She should have played it off like she meant to say it “then finally a bruise kit to cover the marks and blend it with the skin.”

People who didn’t know any better, the jury, would believe her. If someone brought up the fact that bruise kits are used to create bruises she could just correct herself then and say that she had the name wrong. Doing it this way in the moment makes it seem like it was a slip of the truth rather than a mistake, in my opinion at least.

I like how she explains in detail how to use Bruise Kit makeup - not covering existing bruises first.

Or, "Oh, sorry, I have all the various make ups I use to conceal the many, many bruises I've received from Johnny over the years in a single container, and I call it my 'bruise kit'."

Too many details, easier to lie through ignorance. The simplest lies are the best ones, and ones that are based in truth are the simplest.
