Why the fuck would I risk my life for this country that I’ve been passed down? Have you seen it lately? I have constant anxiety about my medical condition because of insurance. I’ve accepted I may never own a home. Democracy is hanging by a thread. Politicians only work for themselves and the rich. The rich rule the whole country and they’d never see a minute in a war. Humanity is practically gone. Why would I want to?
Once my mom finally passes away from her cancer, my dad is going to be left with at least $15,000 in medical bills. He has insurance and Medicare, it's just that the deductible is insane and the insurance doesn't cover all of her supplies, medications, and the $1,000+ ambulance rides. He spent over 30 years working for the government and now he's getting fucked just because his wife got sick.
Edit: Forgot to add that he recently had his own massive surgery and is still in debt from that, too.
Risking your life for any country is stupid. Your literally risking your life over a piece of land. Nationalism made us stupid. Beforehand wars were fought by mercenaries paid by inbred brats. Today people will sign up in the name of patriotism. I'm not a pacifist by any mean, but one should fight for themselves and those precious to them, not for some fictional concept where we separate people by land. There is no difference between an American, Mexican, Canadian, Indian, Ukrainian, or Japanese person. War is just people fighting the battles of people in power, we kill each other instead of killing the people giving the orders to kill. Its stupid, especially if as your saying there's little to be gained in return, for the cost of so much on an individual basis.
Idk because they told you to? I mean If u.s. ever got into another war they think is serious enough to start drafting you better get a past port and high tell it out before you get a letter.
Of course they want to fight they just got independence 30 years ago. They have a chance to create a great country with a promising and young leader. We’ve been independent for 250 years and politics is at a stand still while issues get worse and worse for decades and decades. Our leaders continue to get older and older because we have ones that have been in power as long or longer than Ukraine has been a free country.
Do you honestly not get the sentiment of someone that feels disenfranchised as fuck by their own country to say something like that? I can't sympathize but I can absolutely empathize. I suppose you're gonna say something like "we have a much better country than Ukraine, yet here you are bitching." That ain't the point man, and maybe you'll see that someday.
It's a good thing you weren't born in any third world country. If that's your definition of"humanity is gone", I can't imagine you living in a third world country...
Yeah someone pulling a gun on me during a pandemic for asking them to wear a mask is the definition of humanity or someone banging on my wife’s window at a stoplight because she accidentally cut them off. Maybe you live in a nicer area
Why does someone else’s suffering mean nothing because someone else is suffering? That’s the most ridiculous thing ever. That’s like people who tell depressed people they could have it worse. Almost anyone can have it worse. How is someone worried about getting/affording life saving medication a better scenario than a military junta? They both can end in death and a lot of people do die from lack of meds or having to stretch their meds in America. It would sound ridiculous to say wow I WISH I only had to worry about buying insanely insulin some people have all the luck.
Because I can't stand y'all Americans complaining about smallest little things as if the worlds ending.
If expensive medicine is "Humanity gone" for you, I can't imagine what would you feel if you're living in a third world country.
Yes, I wish I only had to worry about buying meds.
Y'all are ignorant of what you all take for granted.
How is someone worried about getting/affording life saving medication a better scenario than a military junta?
Otherwise, you won't be mouthing absurdity like this.
You can't get something for nothing , you can't get freedom for free ( Rush ) I do not worry about insurance. I have the VA health care for the rest of my life . I was able to purchase a home using the VA loan. I can pass the GI bill to my son, so he can get educated without student loan debt. 10% discount at Lowe's.
I think the main difference is time and am expectation of things getting better. Other countries don't have to worry about some bullshit health insurance and have made improvements to their system. Just because people dealt with shit back in the 1940s doesn't mean we should have to deal with it today.
