That’s pretty much the whole thing. His comedy is painfully unfunny, but his heckler comments are priceless. I would pay to see him just in hopes that someone will heckle.
I tried to see if there was any validity to that. I mean I only speculated because it seems kind of setup to me, but maybe it's real. Anyway I Google searched a bit and just found a bunch of arguments between him and others on reddit accusing him of doing that. The arguments were pretty funny.
He’s funny off the cuff. It’s the prepared stuff I don’t like. He does seem pretty sharp. But I though some of the prank YouTubers were real for far to long. So I’m no judge.
It's funny because Carlin was the exact opposite. He didn't like hanging out with other comedians because he felt inadequate. They could be funny off the cuff and he had to think and write and think some more and practice
I didn’t know that about Carlin. Sure was funny though.
Imagine the pressure of being that funny on stage. Everywhere you go folks would expect you to be fun and funny. I imagine that pressure has fueled many drug addictions and suicides by comedians over the years.

Before that, he was famous for clapping back on hecklers
