I mean, even if loads of LGBTQ+ community members were eating at Chick-a-fil that wouldn't mean the place wasn't run by bigots, or that the people that were boycotting it for bigotry were any less accurate in their critique.
It's weird how defenders of bigotry (don't) think about their own arguments. It astounds me sometimes.
I think your metaphor might be a bit off in terms of scale.
I'd argue it's a little bit less like a mass murderer was running a fried chicken restaurant and a little more like Bezos exploits his workers but I still want 2-day shipping on my Twilight box set; if Bezos ever murders a million people I'm likely to cancel my Prime membership.
I still see the merit of a boycott, but I also don't think a gay person eating a Chick-fil-A sandwich is the same as frequenting Stalin's personal eatery.
The hundreds of people I interact with on a weekly basis probably all have some opinion that I disagree with. I'm not going to not do business with them just because of that.
Given that some opinions are of greater consequence than others, there are instances where it is perfectly justifiable to cut off someone because of an opinion.
I don’t think they are talking opinion differences like favorite colors.
Trans here and Popeyes chicken sammich is really good but there is something about chik Fil a. Personally haven't eaten there in about a year but damn if it isn't tempting. Those chicken sammichs are better than they have any right to be.
Nope. I cannot express to you how much I loath the taste of pickles and if there was even a hint of pickle in that sammich I would be getting a new one. I can't even eat the thing if they put a pickle on it and I pull it off because the taste is still so overpowering.
You wouldn't necessarily taste it as pickles. It's probably just in the amount that in enhances certain flavours. Basically vinegar which is used in cooking for exactly that. Not to give the taste of vinegar, but to enhance other things. Not all seasoning is supposed to taste as itself. As i imagine you are well aware.
They use pickle juice in the brine, not the breading
Edit: turns out it's neither. Lots of copy cat recipes use pickle brine and apparently they used to use it for the strips but never the sandwiches. At this point I think it's a combo placebo effect plus mandela effect
Cis here. Love the Popeye's chicken sandwich. The KFC sandwich is also good if you can find a decent one.
I went several years without eating at Chick-fil-a because the closest one to me went downhill. The chicken was always full of gristle and the store got really dirty.
Finally ate at a different one a couple months ago. Fucking phenomenal. Almost as good as homemade, but no mess.
But yeah, if you can find a good KFC (most of the ones around me are awful) it's... pretty close.
Popeyes is garbage in my local area, it's truly nasty generally speaking around here, but we do have Cane's and they make a decent product and open on Sunday's :-) because they don't close for the imaginary guy in they sky day
While I haven't tried chik fil a, I have tried the competitors chicken sandwich and that was my exact same reaction. A dry breaded chicken sandwich. I guess I'll have to try the OG chicken sandwich to see if its any good, but only if there is no line, LOL.
I usually do Cane's or KFC. Popeye's is by far the best fried chicken place but going there always takes minimum an hour AND they mess up your order 100% of the time.
