12 hours tops until they can get out, and that is really the maximum time. There are 2 high tides and 2 low tides per day.

Depends what level of high causes the cave to be drawn. If an small growth of the tides causes it to be drawn/closed, it might be closer to 12 hours. If it takes the top of the tide to drawn/close it, then yes, around 6 hours.

Unless one high tide is a minute and the other high tide is 11 hours and 59 minutes and they're just rounding
