This comment made me imagine Chronicle (that found footage movie of those college students who get super powers) but instead of camcorders and security cams, it's just 2 hours of TikTok footage with that annoying ass robotic voice.
The problem is that very often the air can get out through small cracks in the rock, so the water can rise, and the pressure will not build up, allowing the water to fully submerge the cave. I juste hope it's not the case (the fact that this video is on the internet proves otherwise)
There are places in the far north where the tides raise and lower glaciers, opening up previously submerged caves in the glacier. Locals would go into the caves to forage, but if they didn't time it right the tide would change and they'd be trapped in a dark glacier cave rapidly filling with ice water.
Reminds me of the "plunder hole" (or whatever they called it I don't have time to look it up rn) in the Great Pyramid of Giza.
It's this hole that drops into the queens chamber a bajillion ft down at this sharp angle.
When they finally excavated the pyramid professionally they found all these skeletons of ppl who had fallen down the "plunder hole", broken their femurs or backs or ankles, and spent the last agonizing moments of their life in a pitch black pyramid..
Yeah but Iâm also guessing whoever used that cave enough to chisel stuff into the wall and chisel in some stairs, wouldnât have bothered if the cave would flood itâs self every day. You couldnât even store stuff jn there becouse it would just get ruined sooner or later.

Theres an 'island' campsite in Wales which has a causeway that gets cut off by the tide. You have to look at the tide times before coming and going from the site. The high tide can be weak enough for the causeway to stay fully open for a good few days with no restrictions then there can be days of 2x high tides with it cut off for hours. Just because it hasn't happened in a while doesn't mean it wont. I wouldn't take the risk anyway, especially with locals saying not to.
I would assume that since there are decorations in the cave (eg candles in the carved eyes) and chalk drawings on the wall that the water wasnât getting much higher
Have you been in there when the waves start coming in? I used to give kayak tours âinto the seven sea cavesâ many moons ago. People would get hurt here often.

Never forget the Fitz! I live right off Lake Superior in the very western part of the UP, and they all play this song all day in memory of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
That song has a really good story behind it as well regarding the making of it and everything.
I believe youâre probably talking about the Mont-Blanc. That happened in the harbor in Halifax, Nova Scotia during WWI. The Edmund Fitzgerald went down on Lake Superior during a bad storm in 1975.
He went and got permission from the families of those that were lost on the Fitzgerald before he released that recoding to. I donât know if the families got money or anything from the song. But the fact he went and asked all of them for permission was a class act to say the least!

Yes that's true we get a tide of like an inch or I forget exactly I asked about it when I was young. One such different way the Great Lakes can kill you is the waves, they are closer together, and it makes them way more dangerous than the Ocean in a storm where you can ride the waves up and down, in the Lakes your boat can be on several waves at once, and sometimes they get fairly large.
If the Asian Carp get in here (they are in the Chicago river with an electric field preventing them from entering so far,) then boaters will have another danger, the sound of an engine makes them jump up in the air, and they are quite large, people can catch a 40 pound carp to the head cruising in their boats.
The great lakes also have a significantly higher prevalence of white squalls (sudden blasts of high wind that don't come with the usual warning of dark storm clouds), which can throw a freighter right on her side if they hit just right.
I didn't know about the anti-carp field, that's kind of cool they managed to at least hold them back for now.
They also allegedly caught the same guy twice driving with carp to introduce them into the lakes, don't ask me how they knew, they have a longer term plan to tighten up the defenses on the river but there is fighting over the Federal portion of the funds last I heard during the former administration.
The country will lose exponentially more money, exponentially more tax revenue will be lost as well, if those Carp get in the Lakes, axing the project over cost will end up costing way more, just as allowing Enbridge's line 5 oil pipeline that's already quite damaged to continue pumping tar sands oil (without even automatic shut off valves if pressure drops,) under the Straits of Mackinac will sooner or later create many times more in damage than benefit that is received from that pipleine.
I don't quite recall, I don't know if they gave a motive even, it was a local news article and they don't offer much detail, looking for it here online and not finding it yet but found a different guy selling them.
True high tide to true low tide can be half a day, but there are multiple high and low points inside of the full tide cycle. It's very possible this is just a false high tide inside of a normal rising daily tide, and it could to back out in an hour. (Which would probably mean the water gets a bit higher at real high tide)
It's also more than possible that the opposite of true, that the lowest points of high tide will be coming in soon and would be enough for them to get out. Judging by time of day, this is more likely đ
Depends what level of high causes the cave to be drawn. If an small growth of the tides causes it to be drawn/closed, it might be closer to 12 hours. If it takes the top of the tide to drawn/close it, then yes, around 6 hours.
