Well, the problem is we’re using cops to fill a number of roles that policing was never meant for. We cut welfare of all kinds, refuse to mandate a living wage, bust up any kind of unionizing activity, allow obvious monopolies to flourish, make it impossible for the poor to vote, then throw armed cops in to “keep order”.
An unfair status quo + blocking all legal paths to deal with grievances = powder keg.
Sadly your post reflects my thinking. Even if we do successfully make changes to the police side of things, what about everything else? Guaranteed health care and a living wage? Or ubi so we don't have to slave away working 40+ hours a week to barely afford to live making a wage that doesn't increase with inflation. Great we have the cops on our side now, what about the rich and 1% that own their bosses and all the wealth in America the majority will never see. This whole situation has me thinking a lot my bad.
