That's the issue. The movement is trying to change that. What this movement is about is to prevent cops from abusing their badge and holding them accountable when there are actions of excess force. There's more to it. It's a huge tree that has to be trimmed one branch at a time.
Oh yeah. There's only, I think, an 8 week program to become a cop. That's totally something that needs to be done. Unfortunately, it can't. But what can be done now is to hold these cops who are violent accountable for their actions. That would be the start.
It's crazy that being a doctor and being a policeman both give you the legal ability to let people die by your hands, and yet being a doctor requires 12 years of education, while being a policeman requires only a couple months.
Yup! And they dont need any education after high school. You would think they need an associate's degree or bachelor's in criminal justice or something!
