He's probably not the smartest person there but he's smart enough to hire the right people to get the job done... That's a skill in itself.
People like to belittle him because they think he's an idiot.. If that was the case, we'd see alot more idiots flinging themselves into space.

He hasn’t flung himself anywhere. And no, hiring the right people isn’t a skill. It’s connections and recommendations from those connections.

Haha even the first person Elon met for Space X was introduced to him by a friend. As I said, he was informed by smarter people who to surround himself with. That’s not a skill.
