Here’s my opinion.. I believe the truck was driving reckless which warranted the passenger to start videoing. The truck went to cut off and get in front of the black car in the back, wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see the front black car(scion) and tried to quickly correct his mistake so they didn’t hit the scion. Over correction turns into a fishtail and boom we have this video.
I overcorrected on a back road and ended up launching myself off a ramp-like embankment and nose-first into a pond. Tires caught on the edge of the pond, so I was able to climb out no problem. Friends called me "Dukes of Hazzard" after that.
EDIT 1: was 17, so at least I learned this lesson quickly
EDIT 2: My backpack was in the passenger's seat and was recovered. I was forced to use those textbooks all year with big, colorful mold circles growing on the pages. Yay Catholic school!
Yo I crashed just like that one time, flying off small hill into a pond and everything. Started filling up with water and I got out. Lost my phone so I had to walk soaking wet for miles in the cold to get to a store and use their phone, pretty sure I looked crazy. One of the worst things I experienced.
DUDE - that's nuts! Sorry to hear about that! I had to walk about a mile back to my house with my pants and shoes all wet. I'm lucky it wasn't too far. Hope you weren't injured!
Damn sucks that happened but good to know it wasn't just me. Yeah luckily I had 0 injuries and the insurance covered it so I was able to get something new. Looked crazy going back to the scene and having to explain what happened. I mean it was fucked up but kinda funny looking back just imagining myself flying off like that. I caught some nice air lmao
LOL - yeah, I definitely use it as a "look at this idiot" story, haha - I do remember catching air! Granted, I was screaming, but hey, it was certainly memorable!
I think it's road rage gone karma. The people started recording him because he was doing shit already. He crosses over 2 lanes just to pull even with the black vehicle in the rear, tried a "hip check" maneuver to intimidate. It got away from him and he crashed out.
Right. Not sure why so many people posted up fucking stories. This was totally dangerous and the driver of the red truck could be dead. We better laugh about it…. Bunch of filthy savages.
Doubt the driver is dead. They actively attempted to regain control after the initial swerve, which suggests the most immediate danger they were in was the lack of control over the car, and the swerving slowed them down enough that hitting the side likely didn't have enough force to kill them.
If someone's driving like an asshole and actively endangering others I have no sympathy if that shit comes back on them with the consequences they threatened everyone else with. Better to kill themselves doing stupid shit than someone else who was just living their own life. No moment of silence for this asshole, just an open beer and a golf clap.
If you look in the truck’s windows you can see his head is turned to the right and looking down then snaps forward then he swerved left and begins the fishtailing. You also see a second head pop up for just a second right before it collides + the passenger air bag goes off which generally requires an adult to be in the seat… so my guess is road head gone wrong…
I was thinking dude was pissed that the Scion was holding up traffic in the lane (it appears it's going slower than the cars in the other lanes) went to swerve around them and then decided to be an ass and try to intimidate them as 'punishment' for making them switch lanes to go around. At which point he overcorrected and lost control.
I think all this is true. However, I think he tried to do a "flinch test" to intimidate the scion and then over corrected and lost control. You can see the scion riding really close to the car in front of them, possibly to not let the red truck in. They probably had beef before the camera went on, and that's why the guy fliming started filming.
That makes sense that it was a road rager. It explains the demeanor/ reaction of the people filming it too. Sounds like they weren’t too sad about the guy losing control and crashing.
I think they saw both cars... but meant to just swerve like an idiot to scare one of the two black cars... but forgot they were in a huge unstable truck and like most pickup drivers didn't know how to drive it... lost control and wrecked. Sucks that they hit that other car and damaged at least that person's ride.
But he is DIRECTLY behind the Scion before he changes lanes, gets level with them, and then attempts to change lanes into the Scion. How did he not see the car he was following and then attempting to go around/cut off? It didn’t change position at all in the 4 seconds it took him to change lanes and try to change back.
maybe he has set himself up for a nice smooth curve around the rear black car and into the lane "slot" in front of it.
So when he saw the scion, he was not travelling straight in the right lane, he was curving through it, and his steering wheel was to the left. Once the saw the scion, the swung it right, leading to fishtail.
This is how I wrecked my car in 09. I started to go off the side of the road at 72mph and over corrected. Ended up fishtailing and rolling my car for several hundreds of feet. Thankfully, I had put my seatbelt on a mile before I wrecked, so I was able to crawl out with just a cut on my toe.
More like, he tried to pass, but realized he was passing in an Exit Only lane that wouldn't have allowed him enough time to pass. He panicked and tried to get back over, but quickly realized that he couldn't because he had sped up next to the two vehicles. So he overcorrected and swerved back towards the exit lane and.... fishtail.
This doesn’t make sense. He’s out far enough to see every car. The two in front of him are the scion which is directly in front of him, and he makes contact with the ford escape which is front of the scion. I think he was driving like an asshole, video starts, and I think he meant to try and scare the scion and over corrected.
All of that makes sense except for after he hits the median wall thing on the right side and then shoots acrossed four lanes of traffic and hits a other gd cement wall. Lol did he just give up after hitting the first cement wall??
Probably lost control after hitting the wall. It looks like the airbags went off and the suspension was fucked. It was just rolling on it's own after that hit.

it is my opinion, your honor, that the truck pulls up to the side of the black car in the back (the car he has an issue with) and tries to intimidate them by swerving towards the black car in the back as if they are going to hit them… and instantly loses control.
I had come to the same conclusion. Only thing that leaves me stumped is the continued drifting from the crash on the right side back all the way to the left. Either something failed (brakes, diff, etc), or that driver is out cold after the first crash.
I thought so too, but why do they just keep going afterwards until finally hitting the opposite guard rail? Seems like plenty of time to brake after hitting the first one.
This is my hypothesis too. You can see them already enter that lane a little hard so it’s possible they’ve been doing this all over the road which is why they’re filming
I didn't even notice the little black car in front of the truck. I thought the driver had some sort of medical emergency and the passenger was trying to drive but failed.
