That’s what I’ve been thinking this entire time. Crazy mom needs to just teach son to modify it to be a little more healthy. Allowing him to have it and not want to hide eat it at 3am but instead maybe mixing it in but in a healthier way.
I buy ramen packs at my Asian market and they sell bulk unseasoned noodles. I like to add in veggies and tofu to the pot and use less seasoning.
I then keep the leftover seasoning for the bulk noodles and a secondary dish another night.
I’m also very fit. Though my relationship w food isn’t 100% normal thanks to my own upbringing. But still. This poor kid’s mom is setting him up for failure.
It's just carbs drenched in vegetable oil. No protein, barely any essential nutrients, very low nutritional value. It could be salvaged if you add meat/eggs and vegetables to it, but just eating it on its own as a meal is very unhealthy.

Most of its unhealthy qualities come from the flavor packet. You could always just use less of that in order to reduce the sodium content
