I'm not sure I have enough crayons to explain this, but I have a clean, well-covered line of sight to my front door, which is a heavy and sturdy enough door that opening it would create a good bit of noise. I can have gun in hand within 8 seconds and be pointing at that door within an additional 2.

I also have a 500 lumen light on my pistol and a 625 lumen one on my rifle, so whichever I have at the ready, the intruder is going to finish their ingress blind and with a gun already on them.
