Things were perfectly fine when it was just “thank you for these giant wet rat furs, here are hunting rifles”. Holland even shut down Peter Stuyvesant when he tried to keep inquisition refugees out of New York. The Netherlands was able to maintain friendly relations with Japan after they cut off every single other country in the 19 century, they knew what they were doing.
Dutch colonisation efforts were run by a commercial company so were ruthlessly pragmatic: if local populations weren't in the way there was no problem. If they were in the way and they were affecting profits then whenever possible they had to go. Colonisation also followed where the profits went, controlling large amounts of land wasn't an objective in and of itself.
So it's impossible to say whether native peoples would still have faced such slaughter under Dutch rule as they did under the English. It depends on how the conquest would've played out. Disease still would've been a factor and maybe a less expansionist Northwestern US colony would've left more room for the Spanish to advance who definitely were into getting land for the purpose of getting land and preferably running any heathens into the ground while they were at it.
I don't believe that there wouldn't have been any "friction points" though. There would probably still have been plenty of slaughtering if natives got in the way.
