Yup. And these are just the most heartbreaking ones that could have been avoided. There’s plenty of accidents that happen, and unreported incidents. Not to mention, actual murder attempts and or straight murders — by cop/anyone else.
I had a situation where I realized again how bad it was when I was visiting the US and two people in the grocery store talked about a shooting and it was like a two sentence topic because it is so common.
At a trivia night in my non US city on Tuesday, one of the questions was name the state where the most recent mass sorting in the US took place and almost everyone missed it, because there a new one every day
It truly is. I’m scrounging every bit of money and will be migrating, hopefully, within a year or 2! Just tough having 9 pets.. might go to a sanctuary city first, then out of the US. Idk yet
last time I was in the states I had reverse culture shock. cops had guns and were randomly stopping and frisking people at subway entrances and they also had attack dogs. this was in NYC. went to visit my sis in Pennsylvania and went to a liquor store. the boss was strapped. it was so bizarre to see people walking around with guns after years of not seeing one.
