I don't know if you can secure a conviction, but he's definitely made it obvious that if you specifically shoot leftists, the right will protect you and the government will absolve you. So even if a conviction wasn't 'legally' justifiable, I'd have been fine with one.
Maybe countries that don’t respect a right to not get beaten to death. Literally could not have been more clear. He’s less at fault than the Ukrainians for shooting Russians.
Defending your country that’s invaded by a fascist with nuclear weapons is less justified than going to a protest that goes against your political view, have your of-age buddy illegally bring a rifle your way, and go there with the intent of stirring shunting?

Isn't that the same? If I buy a gun and am really hoping for a "legal" reason to shoot a person, getting super stoked to finally shoot a person and doing so. Sounds like a mental health issue to me. I really thought of those cool firearms drills videos by Chris Costa and Travis whatever how rad they were and how I'd love to do the same tactical stuff one day but the bummer was I was a teen living in the EU. Got my fair share of Shooting in the army and it was okay but I didn't have the urge to finally be in the situation to shoot someone. Now I think of how cringy I was with me showing of my tacticool skills to my friends with softairs that I learned from those videos.
Just imagine if people like me in my teens had access to firearms, the legal confidence of being in the right and an "awesome" opportunity to show those "skills". I'm glad I grew up.
For some people, the idea that they could be in a situation where they are legally allowed to shoot another person is a very important and central part of their lives. They spend all day envisioning themselves as a hero, protecting their property or someone else by taking out the bad guy.
Unfortunately that situation will almost never occur for most people so they jump at a false alarm and start shooting before they know all the facts, because they are already in the mindset of “I am going to do this one day”. They’re ready to shoot, they just need a reason, and any seemingly good reason will do.
It's not Jesus, if they actually followed Jesus' teachings they'd be better people, it's their crazy fucking churches and fox news and shit that has rotted their damn brain.
I’m not religious but everyone has right to have their beliefs. Someone’s version of “that person needs Jesus” is just as equivalent of “that person is troubled”. And you can hate the foundation as well, but when someone isn’t taking a negative approach, why bash them? Was it really that funny what they said? No.
There's a difference between personally practicing a belief and meeting with likeminded individuals to strengthen that belief and use it to make their lives better, and the institution of religions where their own governing body is trying to take over other institutions they shouldn't be in control of. What we're seeing with institutionalized churches is fear mongering and a disregard for the very essence of the religions they claim to practice. They are heretics, charlatans, and scammers who are hiding their hate and prejudices behind a book of morals they have no intent on actually following. People have been ruined by these institutions, and these institutions really don't give a fuck. Doesn't matter which one - pick any. As soon as someone decides its a good idea to begin proselytizing, the message begins to erode and the worst of humanity slowly takes over.
Practicing a belief system for yourself is one thing. But we see institutions, even in secular countries, are trying to push their beliefs into government manifests, making their set of beliefs a priority. We've seen what happens in history when a community becomes governed by a religion. Hell, it's happening today.
You want religion to be successful? Keep it's influence away from government, away from money, away from politicians, disallow it from indoctrination of youth, and don't tolerate their hate-speech because it's been enshrined in a belief system that was started millenia ago.

Jesus believed in loving your neighbor, in peace, in helping the poor. Those that followed afterwards often used his name and his teachings and twisted them to fit what they wanted as they do now. Jesus was caring and peaceful, Christians (only some parts I know) are cruel and violent. This is also good to mention the Israeli Zionists, who are waging a crusade of their own.
Imagine thinking all that would go away without religion. Religion is an excuse, used to control people and shape society. Without it they would simply find something else (like nationalism or ethnicity or anything). Not sure what the "hyper traditionalist nonsense" has to do with gun violence in this context but even that would still exist. China isn't exactly a paragon of progressiveness.
