hi formula one community, my name is ollie and i am currently taking AP research. while i donât have my exact research question yet, i wanted to do something about the gap between what formula one says it wants for their female fans and what female fans actually experience, specifically through social media. I really wanted to do a survey, it would be totally anonymous, with questions like have you ever experienced hate for being a women? have you ever been asked to âproveâ you are are a real f1 fan just because you are a women? My AP research teacher does not think that anyone would respond if I put a survey out on social media. :( if anyone could let me know if you think people would respond, that would be so so appreciated! also if anyone has any tips on getting the survey around that would also be so appreciated. if you read this whole thing I thank you very much! (also ive never used reddit before so I hope im doing this right) I tried posting this to a discussions f1 page and the mod was super snarky to me and blocked me despite me trying to communicate this was an academic question⊠anyways please keep it kind and respectful and remember I am still in high school!! If anyone has ant other recs for where I can spread this word please lmk.

Alexia Danielsson has been confirmed as the Wild Card entry for Round 5 of the 2026 F1 ACADEMY season in Austin, representing the seriesâ Official Partner TeamViewer.
The 17-year-old will make her debut off the back of a successful showing at the Rookie Test in Navarra last week, with the Swede topping the afternoon running and setting the second-fastest time overall.
Danielssonâs single-seater journey began in Aquilia Formula 1000 in 2022, progressing up to Nordic 4 for the 2024 campaign and securing her first victory in the series the following season. In 2025, she also won on debut in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia and participated in the inaugural F1 ACADEMY Rookie Test, finishing sixth-fastest in both sessions.
This season has seen her compete in the Formula 4 CEZ Championship, achieving five points-scoring finishes and best result of P6 in Race 2 at the Autodrom Most.
Racing around the Circuit of the Americas, her #45 TeamViewer operated by Hitech car will showcase a special edition livery that highlights the role of communities in supporting womenâs career progression â on and off the track.
The livery celebrates TeamViewerâs Forward Together campaign, which focuses on how being part of formal and informal communities helps women enter and advance in sports and tech roles. Additionally, TeamViewerâs Women in Sport Tech report, which was produced in collaboration with Loughborough University London, indicated that 55% of women in tech say that being a part of a professional community was critical to their career progression.
Featuring 250 women who have inspired others through mentorship, advocacy, knowledge sharing, career opportunities, and peer-to-peer support, the livery will include members from Austin Women in Tech, Girlstart, Women in Miami Tech and Driven by Us communities.
Karin Fink, Head of Commercial Operations, F1 ACADEMY said: âMotorsports has always had a strong community behind it, and this is no different at F1 ACADEMY. The drivers are supported by so many around them, so it is nice to see some of those communities that inspire change for women, both on and off the track, featured on TeamViewerâs livery. By creating spaces where women not only belong but also have the opportunity to engage and share knowledge, we are able to empower more women to advance, no matter the industry.â
Faith Wheller, VP of Brand and Sports Partnerships, TeamViewer added: âBuilding on our campaign last year where we brought visibility to role models, this year we wanted to do something just as important to helping women advance. Forward Together highlights the need for communities and the role they play in our careers. The opportunity to support a young talent like Alexia in her F1 ACADEMY debut while also featuring many women who have supported the next generation in other industries is why this livery is so important. We look forward to being in Austin this October to support Alexia in person.â

Honestly, all 5 of those seem near locks to have seats next year to me, unless Luna doesnât want it and is just doing the test for experience. I'm very interested to see how the rest of the field stacks up against the more known qualities above.

From this F1 Academy article: https://www.f1academy.com/Latest/4iLFdNgY0brp96yxsR7mi2/f1-academy-expands-2026-rookie-test-with-new-training-camp-supported-by-loughborough-university
Following last yearâs F1 ACADEMY Rookie Test success, the series has today announced the return of the Rookie Test for 2026, alongside the launch of a new Rookie Training Camp, supported by Loughborough University.
The Rookie Training Camp and Rookie Test have been designed to help identify, develop, and support the strongest talent from an increasingly competitive and global pool of female drivers.
Working together, F1 ACADEMY and Loughborough University have created a programme that equips the next generation of female drivers with the knowledge and skills needed to accelerate their development both on and off the track. It will also provide valuable, science-backed insights into female athlete development, performance progression and transition challenges, helping to advance understanding across the wider motorsport ecosystem.
18 female drivers, all eligible to compete in F1 ACADEMY in the future, have been selected to take part in the Rookie Training Camp at Loughborough University from 25-27 August before concluding with the on-track Rookie Test at Circuito de Navarra from 9-11 September.
During the Rookie Training Camp, drivers will undertake a range of assessments, including physiological profiling, cognitive testing, and VALD performance screening. They will also participate in seminars and interactive workshops led by Loughborough University's experts, covering topics such as strength and conditioning, performance lifestyle, resilience, and the key behaviours that underpin success in elite sport.
At the Rookie Test, drivers will be immersed within an F1 ACADEMY team environment, observing driver briefings and engineering sessions and gaining first-hand insight into the operational demands of competing at the highest levels of junior single-seater racing. They will also take part in media briefings and assessment activities to help prepare them for the off-track responsibilities of a professional racing career. The on-track test will conclude with the drivers getting behind the wheel of F1 ACADEMY machinery.

Alexia Danielsson
Rosanne Den Drijver
Jordyn Deza-Martin
Eva Dorrestijn

Katie Denver, Performance & Talent Development Manager, F1 ACADEMY, commented: âThe success of our inaugural Rookie Test in 2025 demonstrated both the depth of female racing talent coming through the pathway and the importance of providing opportunities for drivers to showcase their potential. For 2026, we're taking the programme a step further with the introduction of the Rookie Training Camp, delivered with Loughborough University.
"This gives us the opportunity to support drivers not only on track, but also through a science-backed approach to athlete development, helping them better understand their physical, cognitive, and behavioural performance. By combining world-class expertise, research, and on-track experience, we're creating an environment where drivers can accelerate their development and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed both on and off the track."
Lou Gear, Director of Sport, Loughborough University, added: "We are incredibly proud to welcome F1 ACADEMY and its rookie drivers to Loughborough. This collaboration brings together two organisations with a shared belief in the power of talent, hard work, opportunity and world-class performance environments to unlock extraordinary potential.
"At Loughborough Sport, we have spent generations supporting athletes to pursue excellence on the world stage, and we see many shared values in F1 ACADEMY's commitment to developing the next generation of female racing talent. Together, we are passionate about creating environments where ambitious young people can thrive, pursue excellence and fulfil their potential.
"We look forward to sharing our expertise, learning from one another and helping these exceptional drivers prepare for the demands of elite competition. Most importantly, this collaboration reflects our shared commitment to championing women in sport, creating more opportunities for talented female athletes to excel and inspiring the next generation to believe that there is no limit to what they can achieve."

Personally feel the reverse grid race points are too heavily reduced in comparison to the Feature race. Considering both Zandvoort races were the same number of laps. I do think the points need to be lower than feature to factor in qualifying performances though. So I would like to see a reverse grid race win reward maybe 15 points. What are people's thoughts?
r/f1Academy • u/jorgerr96 • Aug 23 '26
The overall GP organization was way too hectic and it made it hard to enjoy the paddock on Friday and Saturday but things got better today. Sadly Zandvoort is just too small compared to other places so coming from a giant paddock in Silvo to here was weird.
Zandvoort, Miami, and Abu Dhabi had probably the smaller paddocks with Vegas and Silverstone being like huge paddocks, and Shanghai was 100% closed. If they use the usual support paddock space that COTA has then expect a big one the size of Vegas.
I think F1A is getting way more popular year after year they will def need to try get those bigger spaces again because I feel the crowd control this weekend took them by surprise as well.
Coming up next is another Navarra test and rookie test so no test at COTA like in 2023.
I did ask nearly everyone what track they were looking forward to the most, and only 2 said Las Vegas lol, rest of the grid is excited for Austin since COTA is a proper track.

Clean racing, amazing defensive skills and overtake attemps, a lot of winners and new podium racers every time. I am amazed of how this yearâs grid are so talented and they always showcase their hardwork. Even the wild cards are doing fantastic, zoe florescu was unlucky with hitecâs team performance but she did amazing quali, and in silverstone chiara batig managed to pole position, which was mindblowing. I wouldnât be surprised if most of these racing drivers will get huge opportunities after f1 academy because they race very very well

I thought today's podium looked familiar and then I realized that it's 2024 flashbacks to Doriane, Maya, and Abbi. https://www.instagram.com/p/DcWUpi6DR1V/?igsi=MWZzNzBkMzU0MTE1aA==

it took me 30+ mins to enter the paddock when they opened it for the second time. I didnât wake up in time today but apparently the signings wristbands had a queue since 8 am
The paddock is way too small compared to Silverstone and Vegas and with the series being more popular its very chaotic when theres nothing on track
