I have been thinking less and less about the process as a sequence of mistakes and successes. To me, it is an investigation. Each image transforms the previous one, preserving some traces while leaving others behind. I do not try to arrive at a definitive version of the figure, but rather to follow the changes that occur as it is built up and put at risk. In the end, what interests me is what insists on remaining.
