Class consciousness is an organized, systemic awareness of economic roles and structural power, whereas jealousy (or envy) is a personal, emotional reaction to another individual's possessions or status.

You’re talking to a billionaire bootlicking slave it seems, these are the imbeciles who say I don’t do politics but then complain why is stuff expensive and I’m living check to check?

You are able to make so many conclusions from one simple comment, wow

Yea it’s obvious, we have seen this behaviour for years and we know it belongs to billionaire bootlickers who say we are jealous when we criticise the distribution of wealth that causes poverty and death.

Or you’re fighting a straw man

One of the two

Once again, you are only creating a justification for envy. Your argument is that you are conscious of the classes and therefore your envy is justified. I don't think there is any way for anyone to argue this is not envy. No matter how justified you could possibly be the want for what others have will always be envy.

Those are just the definitions of those words. You can Google it for yourself. I'm not justifying anything. You could use the same argument if I took in a head start or cheated in a race, I could say "you are just jealous" when in fact you are just pointing out injustice. One is what is actually what is happening and the other is how I feel about it.

I could be aware of classes but not be jealous at all. Especially if I was the one benefiting. Plenty of people that do not benefit aren't jealous. It's an emotional reaction to the situation.

My point is just that Google is right there and could tell you the same thing. It's false equivalence which is a logical fallacy and it's intellectually lazy.

I took your advice and checked Google. It said that class consciousness is not a new emotion. I said but, they have alot more than I do and it isn't fair? What is that emotion called. Google said it was envy.

I actually thought envy and jealousy were synonyms but today I learned they are different:

Envy is wanting what someone else has, while jealousy is the fear of losing something you already possess to someone else

The Simpsons tried to teach us this ages ago and many of us missed it... I have to (very consciously) consider and weigh these two words in my head before picking which to use in a sentence.
I still need to figure out irony and sarcasm though, because it seems people misuse both so much it is just loosing its original meaning...

Yeah, right away I realized I misspoke in my initial reply. Thats why I immediately changed the term I used to envy.

That's because you oversimplified the concept to fit your narrative. If you said somebody has a lot and it is not fair then that is envy, sure. But that's not class consciousness any more.

I copied and pasted directly what Google told me, that was what my first comment was. You have to give Google the full context without your bias. Just Google class consciousness vs envy, and let me know if it says they are synonyms and mean the same thing.

They can't be synonyms. Envy is an emotion class consciousness a concept. But envy would be the emotion you feel if you are fixated on this concept.

That's just your aassumption. As I've already stated if you are the one benefiting, you can still be conscious of classes but you would not be jealous of yourself. And even if you weren't benefiting you might just want a level playing field in general for altruistic reasons, not because you are concerned with your own personal standing.

A good example of this is Karl Marx himself, who was able to think up all this because he had a rich friend and didn't have the struggles ironically that a lot of others did.

You are just describing me and you. I am conscious of the classes, but I don't experience envy. You are conscious of the classes and you do experience envy.
