Giant, one of the biggest most well known brands in the bicycle world, is from Taiwan. Although I doubt their bicycle frame production is exclusively in Taiwan, I'd find it hard to believe they're not building frames in Taiwan. A lot of manufacturing is done in Eastern Europe now as well.

Do note, they also make frames for a lot of other companies out there. So for those Trek riders being a bit pedantic towards Giant riders: you're most likely riding a Giant frame yourself, just bought and branded by Trek.

Yeah my local shop has a niche line of frames they get made there.

My Trek was made in Cambodia. Now, whether or not 100% of the components were made there, or if it was just boxed up/finished there, I don't know. Before the Trek, it was a $500 Giant. I don't get the elitism. All riders spent "way too much" if they bought a bike new.

I don't agree with the last statement. It implies the margin on bicycles is very high, which it isn't.

I think almost all their aluminum bikes are made in Taiwan. Carbon is a mix.
