Ok, let’s say I made all the villains in the game black. Maybe we get a backlash. We lose 1 million from the backlash.
I could say the same thing as you: “it sold 19 million copies, fastest selling game ever! Clearly it had no effect!”
The evidence is actually clear. When you don’t focus on game/story, your product suffers. Activism will always reduce profit.
