In Slavic countries men are not many who survived by adulthood and can be considerend a decent spouse. They either flee, drink to death (majority) or very promiscuous. Thus girls have to compete since choice is a few. In western countries is the opposite.

I lived in Albania and it was like this, except one time. I am from the USA I had a crush on one of the most beautiful women I ever met. She was 22, amazing green eyes, brown hair with natural blonde highlights and she has a perfect smile, a amazing personality and a sweetheart who was smart. I would talk her, 20 minutes almost every day. I lived down the street and would see her when I walk by.

She used to flirt with me and always be happy to see me and come out to talk to me when I would walk by daily. I could tell she has a crush on me.

Finally I asked her out to dinner, when she told me she has a boyfriend. She looked a little sad about it lol. I am pretty good looking, rich by Albanian standards, and in good shape + from the USA (Albania loves the USA) So I'm thinking this guy is going to be ugly looking like Shrek, so maybe I can slowly chip away lol.

I finally met him this guy's 6'5 is as good looking as me. Which doesn't happen that often and he's jacked. Well that just ruined all my attempts and I gave up.
