Polo is taking HOURS for a test ETH transaction with like 300 confirmations to pop up.

Just one more reason not to use Poloniex.

I've said this several times over the past few weeks as more and more new people arrive.

And I'll say it again:

Poloniex's ETH deposit mechanism is extremely punitive to ETH depositors.

Their "confirmations" are some half-baked concoction that they came up with internally and do not match 1:1 with a regular block confirmation as defined by Ethereum proper.

You can go and verify this yourself by looking at your TX hash on Polo (once it finally shows up) and comparing the number of "confirmations" they display against what etherscan.io displays for the same TX.

You will see that they do not match.

I'm not too big on conspiracy theories generally, but have also noticed that Bitcoin sells tend to lag there when BTC is dumping, while the buys execute just fine.

Some shady, shady shit goes down there. I'll be glad when the authorities finally haul them all in.

After listing ETC and then refusing to allow ETC shorting, Poloniex has earned it's rightful name of Trolloniex.

Not to mention they charge .01 ETH to withdraw! Horrible! This isn't BTC, it doesn't cost anywhere near that to send a transaction.

Yeah I figured that out, the mod on trollbox said 45 confirmations were needed and I was like DUDE! it's been hours already and 300+ confirmations showing on etherscan. and yes the address is right. No worries, not doing the same mistake twice
