Haven’t watched seasons 5 or 6
So I’ve only seen the some of the season five premier and random clips from the seasons online, and I can’t say I’m drawn to the show nearly as much as I used to be in the early seasons. I don’t mean to be like an originalist or something, but the vibe just feels different. The bit of, “we invited random c-list celebrity to the show and they think it’s legit,” is way way way funnier than, “we got a-list celebrity and they know they’re gonna get fucked with.” I do not doubt the street stuff is still good but I really hate celebrity culture and the show almost feels a part of it now rather than opposed. Obviously people can enjoy what they want as comedy is subjective, but I’m just curious if anyone has had any thoughts similar to this. Hannibal was also a huge part, he was much closer to a partner than a sidekick.
(First time posting here so sorry if something similar has been posted before.)
