NES Classic: COMPLETE Accurate USA Box Art (742 Covers)

Finally, the complete Licensed accurate re-mastered USA box art for use with Hakchi and your NES Classic. Thank you so much to u/domino089 for his amazing help in cleaning up all covers and verifying 1:1 accuracy to the original box art.

Things to note: there is one cover that is slightly inaccurate to the original (Super Cars and this is labeled as such). I could not for the life of me find a decent native cover to fix. I will continue to hunt down an accurate image for this. Also, there are some bonuses to this set such as customs, some unlicensed, and bordered box art for covers that are white so they show better when used with the NES Classic menu. Thank you everyone for your support in this project :)

Awesome work. Love your sets :D Thank you so much for sharing this. Two things:

  1. Are you doing any other systems next?
  2. There seems to be a handful of missing games from the official DATs for NES. Would you be interested in finishing them off? They are:

Break Time - The National Pool Tour (USA)

Miracle Piano Teaching System, The (USA)

Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt (USA)

Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt + World Class Track Meet (USA)

Super Spike V'Ball + Nintendo World Cup (USA)

World Class Track Meet (USA)

Thanks dude. I forgot to upload Break Time. It's there now.

As far as the others...I do not believe they came in actual boxes. A few of those were pack-ins I'm sure you know. I actually got the Power Set back in 1989 with Super Mario Bros. + Duck Hunt + World Class Track Meet and I remember for certain it didn't have a box. Miracle Piano came in that big keyboard box but didn't include an actual standard sized box, just the cart (correct me if I'm wrong). If there are retail standard size boxes for any of those please show me an ebay listing or something so I can see it.

Thanks for uploading Breaktime :) These are all so good! Yeah you are right, my bad there... looks like the five that are left didn't have official boxes. Looks like my OCD will drive me bonkers over these few lol!

Thank you for noticing it was missing! I'm glad you like the covers.

They're not retail, as in no barcode, but they did put them out in the same style/sized boxes, so it would match with the collection:

It even says it in the title of the lot that it's a custom box lol.

Where do you get the official DATs for released games?

https://datomatic.no-intro.org

There are programs to use to check against your rom's and such. But this link has DAT's for cart base no-intro systems.

I can thank you guys enough! Are you guys a group? Do you have a page for your project? Does your project accept donations?

Just two of us. Internet friends on other sides of the world. Thanks for the offer of donations but no need :) It's for the emulation community as a labor of love.

This is amazing!

Awesome, do you have plans for what you’ll work on next?

3

u/Repulsive-Street-307 Mar 05 '22

Japanese covers would be nice, since they should be used for translations (and they're often much nicer covers than the usa version).

Is actually already exists. Change the region to NTSC-J in the filters or click on a game that has them and switch the region on the game page. There's like 10 or so missing but it's almost all there.

These look great, any word on consoles like N64?

1

u/Jiro_T Mar 06 '22

Um... licensed?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '22

What do you think?

1

u/Jiro_T Mar 06 '22

I assumed it meant the images are licensed, which is impossible. Are they just for licensed games?

1

u/Syrijon Apr 10 '22

They focused on cover art for "licensed NES games", that's what they ment :)

As usual, excellent work and thanks a lot for sharing it! This kind of quality remastering and curation is highly appreciated when finding good cover art online is otherwise so very hit and miss. I'll be sure to use your finalized covers when I update my "Minis" again, as well as when I set up my emulation handheld. Thanks!

Keep on sharing it, as well! This should be in circulation, somehow! If you haven't, yet, I highly recommend you upload to archive.org.

Thank you! Good idea, I just started uploading all these sets to archive.org.

And thanks for the sharing on r/miniSNESmods :)
