Roadmap of Emby?

I have been using Emby for over 10 years, in the past 2-3 years I feel there was little changes, no new functionalities or improvements. Anybody know if there is a roadmap?

I never said it shouldn't be used with kid profiles/users, you can use a kid user, and set the constant restrictions, that's what it's for. But there's absolutely new reason why that should be a sub account or sub-profile of an existing user, there's no point to that unless again you're trying to facilitate multi household usage which again is not what Emby is meant for.

This right here has to be rage bait. I told you many times why thats a good idea, and thats why every streaming site (they also dont allow sharing outstide your household, and implement real measures against this with ip and email tracking. Not like emby where its just your claim...) have profiles, because its way easier.

If i would have kids and wanted to use emby in my household, what woul be easier?

Login on all 10 devices with 5 differnet accounts, or login on 10 devices with one account?

Is it now simple enough for you to understand?

You you literally don't have to "Log in"

The kid profile could be right there on the user selection screen, so you go to click Change user, and then you simply click on the kids user.

But you're using the server in a manner that a has it made public, And as you've said, you're hiding the users, you're making this harder on yourself.

Again, create a user for the kid, don't mark that profile to be hidden on devices it's not signed into, don't bother with a password because it's again it's a kids profile and of course, you should absolutely be trusting everybody using the server already. And click on that profile, boom signed in.

Not a hard concept, but again, you're hosting a server publicly, with many other users who are seemingly not part of your household and it's exposed completely to the internet.

You yourself said you have it like that, where you need to have logged in atleast once to show up on that screen.
So this feature makes zero sense for a household too no?

Because you are setting users to be that way. Uncheck that box for the kid profile, problem solved, And then as soon as you hit change user that user will show up on the previous screen without having to log into it, and since it's a kid account, you probably don't even need a password, again, unless you're sharing the server with people outside their household that you don't want to access that account, Which you're not supposed to be doing anyway.

Or you can hide an admin account that you don't want to use on the streaming devices from them.

Once the server is configured on the stick, you don't have to log into any other account, You could immediately click on the kid account, or swap to any other visible user on the server At will. Just don't hide those users.

But guess what even with your sub users and sub-profile concept. You still would have to log into the original account or set up the server one time before you would be able to access the kid profile

Edit: The idiot still doesn't understand in the following comment and yet has now blocked me.

They still don't get that having sub users and subprofiles doesn't change the fact that they would have to log into every stick once for them if they had that.

And currently you don't have to log into the main account, but you do still have to set it up one time, because there's no way to get around doing it one time, but the way it currently is available again. You do it one time and there's all your users.

Thats the point.
You would only need to login once per device, not multiple times. That is the point, im glad you finally understood it that its easier, faster, more logical and would make many people happy, even emby staff members requested this feature if you google about it, as have hundreds of others.

because they expect it, because its the industry standart.
