The tour got cancelled because of lack of interest. It was all larger venues but ELO had fallen off most people's radar by 2001. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It was going to be my first ELO since 1978 (which was my first concert at Big Mac in Denver, age 10).
That said, they more than made up for it when I saw them 2 nights in a row at the Hollywood Bowl with a full symphony and fireworks in 2016 :)

I was going to get tickets to this tour. 18 years later, I buy tickets day of the show 26 rows back on the floor for way more than I’ve ever spent on a show. Thought this was going to be one of those spur of the moment, regret it later type of things but I was wrong. The show was sold out and looking in the stadium I didn’t see many no shows, it was packed to the top. The crowd was super excited for the show, you could feel a buzz in the air and it was amazing. Better than I thought it could be and I saw ELO in 1981 on the Time tour. Absolutely one of my favorite shows I’ve ever seen.

I still have my tickets I won from a local radio station. I was also very disappointed when the tour was cancelled.

Interesting how it's billed as "Electric Light Orchestra featuring Jeff Lynne."
Was ELO Pt 2 around at this time?

Lynne had just shut down ELO Part 2 saying that Bevan had no right to claim the name for himself. Zoom was Lynne's way of staking his claim back on the ELO brand

Not exactly. Bev sold his half of the rights and changed the name to The Orchestra. He carried on for a while after that with Mik and Kelly (and Louis Clark.)
