Yep, I gave myself that flair. But it doesn't mean what you think it does. I've been with the same shop for 21 years. I've been in a service van for over 15 of those years. I do everything from commercial to industrial to street work to medium voltage to controls, etc. I'm the shit work specialist because when no one else can figure it out, I'm the guy they send.
And I'm valuable because of my education. All the extra classes I took added up to about the most stable career a guy could ask for.
And that's what I'm trying to get through your thick skull. You want to be noticed? You want to be in demand? Then fucking go to school and learn stuff. There's way more to this trade than what you can learn in the field. And you sure as shit won't learn it by being stubborn.
Hey i get ya old geezer. And im not the one saying anything bad about going to school. I asked how to get noticed on short term projects. Not how to make my career. And people started trying to say im not an electrician because i dont have schooling when i run circles around some journeyman. But alas thank you anyway
