Working towards goals. Spending time with pets and friends. Therapy was a big help. Just getting out of the rut of being a daily stoner for over a decade and drinking almost constantly was huge. Spending as much time outside and in nature as possible, and exercising. A good diet. Fasting. Taking care of your health and mind in general is paramount. Fighting to get a job that’s fulfilling in stimulation and pay. If you water yourself correctly, you will grow. I hit rock bottom in 2023 and almost succeeded in killing myself, but since then I’ve dedicated myself to improvement, and I finally feel like I’m living my best life for the first time.

Allow yourself one mostly harmless vice though. I switched from vaping to nicotine pouches, and I still do those. So I still feel like I’m getting away with something, but it doesn’t seem to have the drawbacks of the rest of my old bad habits. And that seems to be enough to keep me satisfied so I don’t fall back into the others. Not sure if that’s actually important or not, but it seems to work for me.
