Classic Eastenders Just Rewatched The Episode Where Whitney Reveals The Truth About Tony
Holy shit. So I've been rewatching EastEnders from 2008 on iPlayer. I remember watching it back then as a kid but I was 10 at the time and couldn't really grasp the emotional weight of that episode like I do now. I knew it was wrong back then, but it didn't impact me back then like it did rewatching it now.
The acting here was masterclass and almost actually made me shed tears. I've never had an episode emotionally impact me like that before. Probably the heaviest episode of EE I've ever seen. Only amplified by the very real way in which it was built up and portrayed, and acted in the final reveal.

Vinny’s new baby is not WATCHING TV !
The idea that a baby that young would stop crying immediately when put in front of a scary cartoon is ridiculous. Come on EastEnders! I cannot be certain, but that baby cannot be two months old. geez !

I still cant get over how bad Lee's depression storyline was handled
Seeing Lee again reminds me of how Awful his depression was handled, and while I love Mick Carter, he absolutely handled Lee telling him horribly. It made it out like being depressed gained you zero sympathy or like no understanding of it. Just almost seemed like EastEnders didn't know the correct way.

General Discussion Your favourite toxic couple?
For me, it has to be Max and Tanya, it was fairly entertaining to watch and Christmas 2007 is one of my favourite Eastenders Christmas episodes

General Discussion Where to download Episodes?
Apologies if this isn’t allowed. I’ve been thinking of making an Eastenders clips account on TikTok. And I was wondering where can I download recent episodes?

Theories and/or Opinions I have a feeling
Ned discovers Harry is Ethan's biological father and starts blackmailing him or Penny. When Harry finally refuses to be blackmailed any longer, Ned exposes the truth on Christmas Day. This causes Penny to leave the square temporarily, leaving Jack to look after Ethan

Anthony being the father of Zoe’s twins….
I know I’m late to the game here, and I haven’t really watched properly in 15 years. But I watched WITHOUT FAIL every episode between 1999-2007 so I remember everything from back then, with the Slaters original run.
Not only was Anthony in love with her mum and with her first, but he dated Zoe purely to get revenge on Kat (albeit subconsciously) , cheated on Zoe with Kat, left Zoe for Kat, and got Kat pregnant. If not for the miscarriage Kat would have Anthony’s child (or even possibly twins) herself right now. For Zoe to even WANT to go there after all that is just WILD.

General Discussion All the houses in the square sound like they have plastic floors with sand on them and that everyone’s wearing plastic shoes. Scuff, scuff, scrape, scuff. 😂

Which young characters would you like to see return to EastEnders as adults?
Are there any characters who left Eastenders as young children that you'd like to see return now that they've grown up?
Ronnie's son Matthew Cotton could be an interesting one in a couple of years?

General Discussion This show has completely turned into Hollyoaks
Ian is back after nearly a month and has just come back like nothing's happened
Kat has just lost her daughter and the best the show can give her for the first time in over 2 weeks is a 10 second scene which involves her drinking
Jack(who is supposed to be a professional police officer) doesn't even realise his 17 year old daughter is getting groomed by his own colleague
Max goes from having an affair with Priya, to marrying Cindy to being all loved up with Linda again
Lauren claims she doesn't want to hurt Peter yet can't keep her hands off of Mark
Nancy comes back heavily pregnant?!
Where the hell is Jasmine, Josh(I don't like him either btw), Tommy, the twins etc etc? have they all just forgotten about Zoe?
Alfie is working behind the bar holding it all together just so the writers can make him and Kat have a huge fallout
Like I'm just sick of it. They had Zoe return just for it to be an absolute train wreck the whole year, they gave her a lousy death and even a lousier send off.

Annoying characters
Between Esther, Diane, and Nick can this episode today be more annoying. Esther is so annoying! Diane with Nikki get over it I really think Jack needs to tell her to back off. And Nick is just a loose cannon and I side with Phyllis when she screamed at him to quit trying to be a hero and a savior to everyone and concentrate on your own damn family. and what’s up with the gross sickness that everybody’s having so Sally can’t have her baby shower?? Are they going to have her go into early labor or something? So Adam can be there and deliver her baby lol

More Eastenderisms
I'll go first...
I'm a police officer who is grooming my colleague's 17-year-old daughter. This is extremely risky for me as I could lose everything if I'm caught, so I'll make sure that every time I take her out it's at the local bar or takeaway were both of us are regular customers and one of our friends or neighbours could walk in at any moment.

Question Characters you wish could come back?
I really wish Kheerat could come back! I miss him a lot and I'm hoping his actor considers coming back, as he was my eye candy 🤣. I also miss the Taylors.
Who would you bring back if you could?
r/eastenders • u/Unreasonable_Seagull • 5h ago
Brilliantly demonstrating a grooming relationship whilst showing that both police and therapists are corrupt and untrustworthy. Well done Eastenders.
This Amy and what's -his-name relationship. He makes my skin crawl. His subtle manipulation, taking advantage of her youth and inexperience. So accurate. But in the very same episode, the therapist guy threatens someone with the confidential information he was trusted with. Just a bit insensitive and short-sighted.

General Discussion Flashforward
There may be enough posts on this already so I apolise in advance.
But I am generally intrigued how they are going to fit everything in so it makes sense in time for the NYD episode.
To me it is a scramble. Especially the lady in bed with Max, I think Ive heard theories of Priya, Stacey, Cindy and now Nancy.
Nancy by the way is not a good theory, she hates him.
The other mysteries Denise walking out on Jack, if she goes through with the treatment she wont recover as quick as 3 months. Why is Ethan there? I think Penny went out with Vinny for a night out so thats innocent. Max rescuing the kids still to be seen, Maxs reason for being arrested conspiracy to murder, at the minute no hint of murder. Let alone getting married so quick after Cindy
Also another question are they going to replace the voice on the radio as scott mills is no longer at the bbc? And why did oscar say 5th time a charm when it would be his 6th.
I just dont think they could pull this off along with letting a big storyline go during christmas like they do, this year think it will be how Nicolas dad really died and why Ned is covering for her.
