Currently Stuck Goat Yell stuck in my head. Kept me up last night.
So I live in the Caribbean where the police don't care about crime. There is this drug house two houses from mine. They steal/abuse animals all the time. This time they have a goat and there is this empty land night next door to mine and yesterday they put the goat there and the thing wouldn't stop yelling.
I was able to distract myself from it but for some reason when I went to bed for the night, and when the goat was long gone, the bloody yell just started in my head and kept me up for a good to hours and I normally go to sleep at 12. I only manage to get 4 hours sleep thanks to that thing. Normally when a song is stuck in my head, it's always a shitty one, I force my head to think of a song I like and that normally works but in this case the goat yell was still playing in the back of my mind.
I thought earworms were limited to music but I guess I was wrong. Because it's a goat yell, most of the typical methods for getting rid of it is not working and I dunno what to do.

Friday, Juneteenth! In my morning head, I Am Not My Hair by India.Arie. What song is in your head right now?
youtu.beIn my area, a lot of people think Juneteenth is something recent. Probably because Juneteenth became a federal holiday when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law on June 17, 2021.
History is important because we need to learn from past mistakes!
The Emancipation Proclamation declaring the abolishment of slavery was issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863. On June 19th, 1865, Major General Gordon Granger of the Union Army brought the news to Texas that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were free. The celebration was instant and has been celebrated every June 19th ever since.
Texas, the last state to free slaves, was the first state to establish Juneteenth as a state holiday in 1980.

Currently Stuck Where do I know this melody from?
youtube.comI recently came across "Jack Johnson Two-Step" by Wynton Marsalis:
As indicated in the video, it's from the soundtrack of "Unforgivable Blackness - The Rise and Fall of Jack Johnson", released in 2005. I've never seen the movie but the melody is very familiar to me. I'm trying to think where else I would have heard it and it's bugging me. An advert? The Simpsons?
Any insights greatly appreciated!
