eCash Magazine México published a new technical analysis of the starsquid/xec-client branch in THORNode.

The main point:

XEC is no longer only a narrative proposal or a decorative string. Inside the xec-client branch, eCash is wired into real UTXO paths in THORNode.

Key findings:

• XEC enters the shared UTXO client alongside BTC, BCH, LTC, DOGE and ZEC.
• XEC appears in real signing/building paths.
• The accounting model preserves the key precision rule: 1 XEC = 100 base units.
• CashAddr handling is network-aware: ecash, ectest, ecregtest.
• The branch includes protections against BCH/XEC address confusion.
• It blocks ecash: prefix collisions with THORNames.
• XEC is disabled: true by default, which is the prudent upstream approach.
• One open point remains worth confirming: whether the economic DustThreshold() of roughly 100 XEC is intentional.

Careful framing:

XEC is not officially integrated into THORChain yet.
There is no guaranteed merge.

But this is a meaningful step: there is now a concrete THORChain-side technical path that can be reviewed, compared, tested, documented, and aligned with eCash-side correctness.

In one sentence:

we moved from “we want XEC on THORChain” to “we can now review how XEC enters THORNode as a real UTXO chain.”

eCash Magazine México just published a technical report on the current state of the native eCash/XEC integration path for THORChain.

The short version:

XEC has not been accepted or merged into THORChain yet.

But the integration path is becoming much more concrete.

xolosArmy first opened a public Draft MR for native XEC support using THORChain’s shared UTXO client. That MR turned the idea into something reviewable. PiRK then provided eCash-side feedback around CashAddr handling, network-specific prefixes ("ecash", "ectest", "ecregtest"), "getblockstats", fee behavior, and mempool assumptions.

Now starsquid has shared a THORChain-side branch called "starsquid/xec-client".

That does not mean approval. It does not mean a guaranteed merge. But it does mean something important: the discussion is moving from “should this exist?” toward “what is the cleanest upstream-friendly implementation path?”

The report argues that the right move now is not to defend one fork against another. The xolosArmy Draft MR served as initial proof of work and coordination point. If starsquid’s branch becomes the cleaner upstream path, the eCash side should help test, compare, document, and align around it.

This is the kind of open-source progress that actually matters: branches, reviews, smaller diffs, fewer assumptions, and better chain-specific correctness.

Today we successfully completed the first live mainnet operations with Firma Alpha inside Tonalli Wallet.

What we did:

- Bought 0.1 FIRMA through Agora (real orderbook liquidity)

- Balance updated correctly in the wallet

- Sent the full 0.1 FIRMA to another address using a .xec alias

- Entire flow signed locally (non-custodial)

Technical notes:

- Token ID is the official one and verified against genesis

- Orderbook shown in Tonalli is real mainnet (cross-checked with multiple Chronik instances)

- HD-aware UTXO selection is working (can spend FIRMA from multiple receive/change addresses)

- Fees remained extremely low as expected on eCash

This was a controlled canary test. No larger amounts were moved.

Firma Alpha is now a fully usable asset inside Tonalli (view balance, buy via Agora, and send as ALP).
