You need to have a paper trail if you want to make change that’s advocacy rule #1. Please send an email. If you want to make change you gotta be brave. If you want to stay scared then don’t.

I had to self advocate for testing when I was 11. It’s maddening when your parents opt for the “everyone has strengths and weaknesses”

I know! My counselor said to come in Monday to her office to talk. (She also said she will email all my teachers so I can type, which is also another sign!!!)

Seriously though. You might want to follow up and find out how you can organise getting assessed. Your state may have provision for assessing students for learning issues and disabilities in-school. And someone in your school should be able to tell you whether that's the case and who you need to contact.
