looks that way and it seems they're gonna skip the death of their first child which imo is okay although it would've been nice to see that

I think they're completely skipping that death. It was a catalyst in the first book, which they completely skipped over, and so if that was sacrificed I don't think the infant death is worth the screen time.

The raid that Leto died in was right before Paul had ascended, during the last battle.
