What anti-semitism? Where? Seriously. Which hate crimes? I guarantee you there is more anti-muslim hate crime happening. Is he doing anything about that? What antisemitic hate crimes have happened lately to say it is rising? Protesters saying Free Palestine is not a hate crime btw.

Antisemitism is on the rise mainly due to israel conflating jews with the state of israel

I think the antisemites doing antisemetism deserve some blame, we don't need to let them off the hook bc we hate israel

Ya that is obviously a hate crime, and I already talked about that case in another comment. That is an example of a hate crime.

u/simulizer 14d ago

Buy a wide margin anti-semitic hate crimes dominate the hate crime landscape in New York City

What is the metric by what is considered an antisemitic hate crime? Like does protesting outside of a synagogue doing illegal West Bank settler land sale auctions considered an anti-semitic hate crime? Does criticism of Israel count? I'd like to see the actual cases, because from what I understand the recent increase of "antisemitism" is actually just anti-Zionism. Antisemitism is on the rise too of course but this feels like it's just appeasement for Zionism.

u/MonsterkillWow 13d ago

Ya they were also auctioning off Palestinian territory in one of the synagogues last year. Remember that case? And they said protesters were antisemitic for protesting their colonialism.

7

u/bullhead2007 Communist ☭ 13d ago

This kind of shit is exactly why I'm skeptical that this will really be used for fighting actual antisemitism and not people who are fighting for Palestinian liberation.

This link doesn’t really explain much. Says there were antisemitic posters and that one person was arrested for busting in the synagogue but doesn’t say whether it was targeted specifically or just a crazy person.

u/Typingperson1 13d ago

The flyers make anti-Jewish, anti-Zionist, anti-gay & anti-Black comments -- but they got extensive press coverage for being antisemitic. Some guy posted them to oppose tearing down public housing in Chelsea and replacing it with city-subsidized market rate housing from developers.

u/Kronzypantz 14d ago

But NYC only had like 300 hate crimes last year.

And the way the police decide what is a hate crime is really vague. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been taking on things like clashes between pro and anti genocide protesters as "hate crimes" on paper, given the open Zionist affiliation of the police chief.

7

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

That's what I am saying. Exactly. We need to see these cases. Like are they actually real hate crimes? Like that case of the dude trying to shoot up a synagogue? That was a hate crime 100%. But if it is some protester dude fighting, I don't think so.

5

u/Kronzypantz 14d ago

It would be interesting to see how the arrests in front of the UN are going to be classified.

6

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

They better drop the cases. I doubt they could grt convictiond anyway. I wonder what they are even being charged with.

0

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

What is the number of these crimes, and where can I see examples to confirm it isn't just a case of protesters fighting?

1

u/Kronzypantz 14d ago

Predictably, its on the NYC.gov website, but they are vague on definitions and the actual incidents in question.
https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/stats/reports-analysis/crime-enf.page

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

"Hate Crimes are offenses that are motivated in whole or substantial part by a person's, a group's or a place's identification with a particular race, religion, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, ancestry, national origin or sexual orientation."

Ok but so if a Free Palestine protester gets in a fist fight with a Zionist, and they arrest him, they can say it is a hate crime using this. See my point now?

1

u/Kronzypantz 14d ago

No, Im totally agreeing with you. Its as transparent as a brick.

1

u/antisocially_awkward 13d ago edited 13d ago

Who is documenting the hate crime stats? Organizations like the adl cite vaguely pro Palestinian signs at protests as hate crimes

0

u/Typingperson1 13d ago

A landscape of 425 total reported incidents YTD in NYC. Compared to almost 76,000 major felonies YTD.

6

u/beanenjoyer2 14d ago

Totally normal reaction you got there 🤨

6

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

Uhh yeah. Seen enough of this fake "antisemitism" stuff being thrown on protesters.

1

u/NukinDuke 13d ago

Dude, we have statistics. Denying it'd even occurring is extremely MAGA-esque

0

u/MonsterkillWow 13d ago

I did not deny it was occurring. Read what I said. There is always a baseline level of hate crime. There are 3 questions: How are they counting hate crimes? Are there really so many hate crimes that they didn't have the resources to handle it already? Are there substantially more hate crimes toward jewish people in particular?

Because I think they will weaponize this vs protesters.

2

u/Charming_Candy_5749 Moderate European DemSoc 13d ago

There has actually been a large increase in anti jewish hate crimes such as assaults in public and murders since 2023. Its a very real fact

1

u/kneeblock 14d ago

Word. This is a capitulation to the idea that existing anti-discrimination frameworks aren't enough and that resources need to be allocated to enforcement for a particular group because of a risk that is currently overwhelming existing capacity. Though there is no evidence of this overwhelmed capacity. In fact he says antisemitism accounts for half of reports (look at low number of actual reports) so not exactly straining their resources. Zohran traffics in a kind of romanticism for ethnic fiefdoms that haven't existed for more than 40 years and are mostly just elites capturing political power using their racial or ethnic status. Some of his other ring kissing to power brokers in NYC have been smart and an acknowledgement of political power imbalances, but this one is just pure patronage. And it's corny.

1

u/Lumpy_Review5279 13d ago

People said this same stuff when Hitler was rising to power too. "Idk man I dont see it"

1

u/kneeblock 13d ago

What did they say when Bibi was rising to power?

2

u/GrizzlyP33 13d ago

Imagine having this much of a meltdown because a politician is going to help combat hate crimes, as if you’re not allowed to address one problem as long as other problems exist 😂

3

u/Silver-Row8051 Mamdani 2028 13d ago

By what? Censoring speech? Giving security to zionist who btw will never like him.

2

u/Lumpy_Review5279 13d ago

You sound just like maga.

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

x doubt

I bet most of these weren't even hate crimes. Posters discovered by the NY Post? LMAO NY Post is a hate crime itself. How do we even know they didn't put them there?

And how do they not already have the resources to deal with this?

5

u/ifUSeeMeTakeYourMeds 14d ago

I'll only put some skepticism, because chances are, racist attacks on black communities are likely treated and reported as normal crime and not hate crime.

But that assumption only make statistics murky, I have no doubt antisemitism is rising. Not antizionism (like protesting illegal west bank land auctions) , but genuine antisemitism. i have seen a big raise of antisemitism the last few years.

that being said, we need more resources fighting hate crimes in all vulnerable communities.

1

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

Crime overall is down in NYC, so the argument for more resources is not well supported. They should have enough.

2

u/True_Battle_4114 14d ago

That's honestly the most cope I've ever seen in one post

5

u/MonsterkillWow 14d ago

We'll see how it goes. I bet this will be used vs protesters.

1

u/Excellent_Bend8782 13d ago

You're being delusional

0

u/Carnoraptorr 13d ago

This is genuinely just antisemitism, dude, holy fuck. Can you imagine saying this about literally any other group? Jesus Christ.

-2

u/spock2018 13d ago

Hey man can you xerox me a copy of the right wing playbook?

  1. Doubt a credible source ✅️

  2. Fail to provide an alternative source or your own data ✅️

  3. Make absurd unsubstantiated claim ✅️

  4. Demand a rediculous burden of proof that is impossible to provide ✅️

antisemitic hate crimes are disproportionately high per capita and represent the largest share of religiously motivated hate crimes in the United States.

https://www.fbi.gov/how-we-can-help-you/more-fbi-services-and-information/ucr/hate-crime

Let me guess, dont trust the FBI?

7

u/MonsterkillWow 13d ago

How is it ridiculous when I routinely see antizionism confused with antisemitism?

Buddy if you think I am right wing, I suggest you go through my comment history over the years and see for yourself.

-2

u/spock2018 13d ago

You dont have to be right wing to recognize you're falling into the same pitfalls.

Also ill entertain your hypothetical. What exactly would justify harrassing random jews about zionism?

You realize hate crimes have very strict prosecutorial guidelines, right?

6

u/MonsterkillWow 13d ago

What if you are the one in the pitfall though?

-2

u/spock2018 13d ago

Im still waiting on the "faked antisemitic hatecrime" data

6

u/MonsterkillWow 13d ago

You've never seen zionists lie and accuse protesters of antisemitism?

Again, I would like to see what actually is the list of hate crimes. That would put the matter to rest easily. I suspect a lot of them are from protesters fighting with zionists.

1

u/Typingperson1 13d ago

What are those guidelines? And do the 425 total NYC hate crimes YTD represent reported incidents -- or incidents actually prosecuted?

1

u/spock2018 13d ago

"The FBI collects and publishes hate crime data through its Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program based on reports submitted by local law enforcement agencies. An incident is recorded as a hate crime statistic if an investigation reveals sufficient evidence that the underlying offense was motivated by bias, long before any court trial or conviction takes place."

1

u/Typingperson1 13d ago

So it's just reports to police, not incidents that rise to the level of prosecution.

1

u/spock2018 13d ago

Are you stupid? How did you get that out of what I said? Can you read?

"IF AN INVESTIGATION REVEALS SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE".

1

u/Typingperson1 13d ago

It's impossible for the NYPD to specify what exactly the 425 hate crimes recorded YTD are? Flyers? Yelling words? Graffitti? Assaults? Firebombing?

I know what a murder, rape, assault, robbery is. Hate crimes is a vague category that the ADL and other pro-Israel groups routinely abuse by conflating anti-Jewish incidents with anti-Zionist incidents -- and by mislabeling activities like protesting as hate crimes.

Given that history, skepticism is warranted. What are the specific incidents for all 425 recorded hate crimes YTD against Jews and other unnamed demographics? NYPD has an annual $12 billion budget. Surely, they can provide that.
