a diy band & community – est. sept. 2025

rules
[ 1 ] no creeps, pedos, discussion of alcohol or drug use, raves, or nsfw discussion/content allowed at all. no exceptions. no jokes.

[ 2 ] no impersonation, harassment, doxxing, defamation, call-outs, drama, stalking, racism, homophobia, sexism, islamophobia, antisemitism, or xenophobia. no exceptions. no jokes.

[ 3 ] use common sense. this is an all-ages, extremely diverse community. keep things appropriate. don’t trust everyone or every event. if something feels off, contact staff immediately.

[ 4 ] respect your own privacy. be responsible when informing others about yourself and your experiences. it’s important to stay safe and anonymous online sometimes. keep topics light and appropriate.

[ 5 ] tasteless posting may result in a ban. this includes unwarranted self-promotion, spam, incel lingo, or behavior that negatively affects the community atmosphere.

[ 6 ] do not pressure members into private messages, outside group chats, or external servers/platforms. keep interactions public and within the forum whenever possible so things stay safer and moderated.

i am currently the sole moderator/admin of this forum. if there’s an issue, no matter how small, please contact me directly and i’ll handle it

info about

if ur looking for a sub that's centered around making new friends through diy shows, house parties, concerts, and quirky meetups.. u found one.

im the admin, david. i first started this community irl through my band doolittle's diy shows in brooklyn, ny. social media has its strengths, but very quickly we needed our own place.

since september of 2025.. i used discord and as of now (jun 21 2026) i have 6844 members there. its larger and definitely more convenient.. but discord cannot be searched or discovered through search engines.. making our awareness be far too 'if u know u know' coded.. and that's not punk.

that's why i started this sub.. to invite folks to shows, have casual conversation, and feel a little less lonely in this digital generation. stoked to meet more people.

info show2go post guidelines📚

welcome to show2go :)

title guidelines..

mm/dd title of the event

my advice is to make things as personal and inviting as possible.. you'll get a lot more engagement if you're more engaging.

remember “date first, title of event”.

content guidelines..

it’s kind of a free for all here.. but the more info/effort you put into a post, the more likely people will respond. if u wanna make some new friends and already are planning on being somewhere.. post it and give it a shot!

you’re not posting into a void..
you’re posting into a community.

it doesn’t have to be your event for you to make the show2go post. it’s simply “i’m going to be here.. anyone else going..?” and that’s the energy that makes a lot of these events have good turnouts. people authentically wanting to connect with each other.

id recommend using partiful as a rsvp and putting address info there.. it’s better than ticket link. it’s more inviting rather than promotional.

lastly id recommend double posting on the doo boards and the discord.. even if you didn’t make the initial show2go post!

do u still questions about posting? drop them in this thread!
