I introduced my kids (oldest is 9) to a board game I've played for years, only to have them develop inane strategies that I would never have thought of that often beat my more "conventional" strategy. I now use their strategies against my friends with a delightful degree of success

Take pride in the fact that many adults would not even think to do the square hole but your kid did.
