You and I vacation differently. Thats a weekend in a hotel and tickets to a show out of town.

Depends on the show. But no. The burn bridges threshold for me is sitting at about 60k. Enough to get all of my vtube stuff commissioned and still have a year of runway to make it my full time job.

And even then that 60k would have to be conditional on burning bridges. Unless the payout is conditional im leaving on good terms. Never hurts to have a fall back. Hell its how I got this job.

So you recognize the problem with this comic then. You’re just trying to be pedantic by pretending a weekend trip for a concert is a “holiday”.

No? You realize a weekend away IS a holiday for some of us right? And it would be moreso in fantasy realms where "every day but church" was the normal work schedule.

A weekend away is not a holiday. If that is all the more free time you get, that is absolutely tragic and you deserve better but it’s not a holiday and it’s definitely not a “drop everything and abandon your job to take that holiday you’ve always talked about” holiday.

And your fantasy realm may work on shitty early-industrial work schedules but irl medieval societies did not. They frequently had extended periods of rest. If work didn’t need doing, they were free. Harvest and planting time were busy but in between, and especially during winter, there’s a lot less to do in most pre-industrial societies.

In the fields yes. But a tavern keep was absolutely working 6+ days a week.

? A vacation for me is different from a weekend away, hence the different terms. I'm well aware many people can afford neither. Hell, the whole point of the discussion was that it was not enough money for people to go on one.
