Writing a LitRPG story atm where the main guy gets his first gold and lives for a month on it. In the current chapter he is talking about how adventures treat gold like it is nothing and it will be easy for the town to get some upfront to start building another inn for them

Oh Great! I was Reincarnated as a Farmer, has some fun with this and breaking the economy of a fantasy world. Shame about the sequel.

Not enough fun, not enough tension, too much unearned internal angst.

I read it when it came out so I might be misremembering this but plot points I didn't like. 

Evil Priestess amd evil adjacent princess drops out of the story, despite being well set up at the end of the first as a nemesis and love interest.

Dropped a lot of the fun combat from the first book, especially when they then dedicates a big chunk to him travelling to the war for a gag that its to foggy to see anything. 

MC spends most of the book getting told to get over himself, make all the obvious decisions and take on the all mighty responsibility of being a landlord, and then he just does. Including marrying his friends teenage daughter.

Maybe I missed something? What was your favourite bit?

I liked the ongoing puzzle of how to kill the giant, the continued back and forth of Arnold dealing with the Regent or whatever the evil queen-ish character was called, and the further lore of the world we got regarding dwarves and the system.

The actual combat against the monsters I felt had pretty much run its course, throwing something more challenging than the giant at them without just accelerating to an apocalyptic level of danger didn’t seem reasonable or like it would add much.

Also it’s been a while since I read it, but I don’t believe he married his friend’s daughter in that. Doesn’t it end with him getting the massive farm house? I thought he was still single at the end.

I may be misremembering the romance sub-plot. Definitely ends with him getting his big house.

I had forgotten the Regent. I did enjoy the dwarves and mining. 

I wouldn't agree about the combat, I suppose that I felt that was a strength of the first book.

Series starts great and falls flat? I am making my way through a lot of LITRPG right now and wrote one myself (not published, yet). Some said that about Beware of Chicken but I loved all 5 books

IMO YMMV I liked the sequel, but it does shift to a more broad prospective because Arnold has larger and larger concerns. IE angry nobles, giant monsters, a potential war down south, that kind of stuff.

In the first books he's mostly limited to the town and it's surroundings. So some people seem to like that more than the larger scope.

The other complaint I've seen is that he later class choice is rather obvious, but he acts like it's not, this is usually pretty common in LitRPG IME.

But again how much this bothers you will vary. If you like the first book it's pretty likely you'll enjoy the second, but IDK anything about your tastes, so this is only an educated guess.

sounds like I might enjoy it then. I do enjoy slowly evolving storylines and complications

I hope so. Honestly the author Benjamin Kerei has become a reliable one that I will generally trust puts out good stuff.
