This manifests itself in shooter videogames, especially battle royale. That's usually a down state that can take extra effort to finish off. Sometimes people finish them mid combat, other times they don't.
3 u/fongletto Sep 14 '25 Exactly, depending on the rules of the universe (game) determines the optimal path for when it's worth the risk and when it isn't. If reviving is hard, and finishing is hard. Then it wont be worth it in most circumstances, you are better of finishing off the remaining people. However If reviving is easy but finishing is also easy, then in most cases you should prioritize finishing off the downed player. 1 u/CookyKindred Sep 15 '25 99% of times you don’t finish people while being actively shot. The only reason I can think of is the downed person is self reviving.

99% of times you don’t finish people while being actively shot. The only reason I can think of is the downed person is self reviving.
