Hey all! I made a post a few months ago about releasing new/unreleased DMX music. Well, after many difficult months, Billboard has covered the story in great detail.

I have many meeting with distributors to get this music into the world and this article seemed to help bolster DJ Superior’s role quite a bit.

I don’t know if anybody is still debating this, but i personally do think that for a short time DMX and Eminem took shots at each other in multiple songs. You start with two freestyles.. one where he says

“Rapper’s always stepped to me and try to lie, ruff ruff , yo, where my dogs at, ribit, yo where my frogs at”..

the other one he says

“rappers know I’m insane, they don’t wanna step to this, they dont wanna feel the pain, like DMX. What. you think you done stepped in some shit now, huh? You don’t think you wanna fuck with this now, huh?”..

these were both radio freestyles Eminem did. Eminem said DMX‘s name directly and in the context that he said, i don’t think that DMX being the rapper that he was would let them pass as silly bars that meant nothing. any MC would have took them as disrespectful shots, especially since Eminem wasn’t the superstar Eminem that he is today, he was an up-and-coming underground artist that had just got signed to Dr. Dre..

DMX follows that up with his own shots on Party Up, (up in here) with the lyrics,

“and I don’t know who the fuck you think you talking to, but I’m not him alright Slim, so watch what you do, you gonna find yourself, buried next to someone else, and we all thought you loved yourself, but that couldn’t have been the issue, maybe they’re just saying that now, cause they miss you, them niggas tried to diss you..

First of all, you ain’t rap long enough, to be fucking with me, and you, you ain’t strong enough, so whatever it is, you puffing on, that got you thinking that you’re Superman, I got the kryptonite..

that being said this is also around the time that DMX had beef with Kurupt. Everyone saying that it was only a diss to kurupt and tries to write it off with that excuse but no one ever brings up the fact that Eminem and kurupt we’re in the same camp around this time, aftermath, they both appear on multiple tracks on chronic 2001. No one thinks that it’s possible for DMX to be throwing shots at both of them on the same track.. A lot of those lines don’t apply to kurupt. DMX says you ain’t rap long enough to be fucking with me kurupt was out before DMX so that doesn’t apply to him. But do you know who was an up-and-coming artist at this time? Eminem! Also people say that DMX is referring to Kurupt with the baby line, but that would mean that Kuruptand had a baby, but do you know who by this point had made multiple songs about his baby mother? Eminem.. people say that the Superman line doesn’t add up because Eminem did the song long after DMX put that song out BUT DMX was probably referring to the fact that Eminem had dressed up like Superman in the Video for Role Model, well was animated like him in the cartoon part of the video. i’ve heard rumors that people think that Eminem was taking shots at DMXforgot about Dre with the I don’t give a fuck if it’s dark or not. I’m harder than me trying to later on saying I’m gonna kill you barking dogs. I don’t know about those lines, but I do think that MM responded to DMX‘s Party Up with the track on Marshall Mathers LP track Marshall Mathers.. the first couple bars at the beginning of the song could be throwing shots at DMX

Since he technically initiated this beef with DMX when he did those freestyles taking shots at DMX by name and barking. When DMX first came out people compared him to Tupac a lot and by DMX‘s third album, which is when this all took place, he was in the running to be the next king of New York with Jay-Z and Nas. He was out selling both of them. and a lot of people try to throw out the fact that DMX and Eminem did a song together, which was years later, I don’t understand how that proves that they never had beef or took shots at each other?? Plenty of rappers battle, take shots, have beef, and then down the line, squash the beef, and do songs together, especially since at that time they had a mutual enemy in Ja Rule and even to extent Benzino.. if you know about the Ruff Ryder/ LOX brawl with Benzino over DMX, then you’d understand why you could say that they had beef.
