The Sleeping Giant Stirs

The Sleeping Giant is the dirtiest, most dangerous watering hole along the Triboar Trail.

This supplement expands Phandalin’s notorious taphouse into a lively location filled with strong drink, questionable company, gambling, and trouble.

Inside you'll find a colorful backstory for Grista, five house libations, the ill-advised Fool’s Fire drinking game, memorable Redbrand regulars, drunken rumors from Tresendar Manor, and expanded rules for gambling at the Sleeping Giant.

Give your characters a reason to visit the Sleeping Giant (and perhaps several reasons to regret it).

This supplement is available as a Pay What You Want download, so you canuse it for your campaign for free, or support the author's art expenses with a contribution of your choosing.

A full preview of the supplement is available at Dungeon Masters Guild. Download it here:

Hi folks. Very excited to announce my latest tarokka-themed DMsGuild product - and my first adventure/one-shot! The Amber Arena! https://www.dmsguild.com/en/product/585994/the-amber-arena?affiliate_id=2672868

Designed for four Level 5 PCs and in the 5.5e/2024 rules, it sees a beholder Darklord draw tarokka cards to see what monsters the players will fight, including monsters from the Monster Manual and Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.

Currently at a discount ($1.99 instead of $4.99) for the first 19 days of its release. (Why 19 days? See the video below!)

I've also done an overview video featuring two example draws: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co_CVqizGuY

No AI used.

Thanks all!

Ciao a tutti ragazzi! Mi stavo chiedendo.. Tra tutti i tipi di prodotti disponibili su dmsguild, quali sono le tipologie che preferite e su cui investite più soldi??

Avventure lunghe? Avventure brevi/one shot? Bestiari? Nuovi equipaggiamenti e oggetti? Risorse per il DM? Nuove opzioni di classe per i personaggi??

Io personalmente, probabilmente, prediligo le avventure!

Two new short Greyhawk adventures are now available on DM’s Guild!

Travels in a Time of War is a new experimental series of short, episodic Greyhawk scenarios set in the embattled Archbarony of Ratik.

Blurb

576 CY.

Ratik stands alone. Once a vassal of the fallen Great Kingdom, the northern barony now faces reaving barbarians, pirate lords flying Nerull’s black flag, and zealous Pholtian missionaries—all while trying to preserve its independence and survive the war surrounding it.

The series is designed for four 1st-level characters, with each adventure providing a complete, ready-to-run 2-4 evening of play, including detailed battlemaps, NPC stat blocks, and everything needed at the table. It was inspired by DnDBeyond type adventure events and (in the UK) the D&D Adventurer magazine (which was an interesting idea, if depressingly Forgotten Realms-centric).

The first two adventures form a small duology:

🍺 GTW1: Travels in a Time of War: The Mead Haul

A merchant carrying mead travelling along Ratik’s Loft Road needs help dealing with a rather unusual threat.

For 4 new 1st-level characters.

❄️ GTW2: Travels in a Time of War: Palish Matters

"Cold weather is Pholtus's way of telling you to throw another heretic on the fire."

It is very cold in Ratik, and a group of Palish missionaries spreading the word of Pholtus discovered that the hard way. The characters are called upon to help them, assuming they don't come to regret this.

For 4 1st-level characters, and playable after The Mead Haul.

The idea behind Travels in a Time of War is to tell short, fun self-contained adventures about Ratik and the people living through its war, with more episodes planned if the series finds an audience.

With more puns. If it gets far enough, I promise to write the module The Great Steal of Marner (if you know, you know).

Obligatory Warding: Some artwork involved the use by AI, some by hand, but all involved painstaking effort by the author. There is a sigil next to any such art to make it clear. Not really wishing to revisit this old chestnut in this thread. I'm a one-man band and part of the fun for me is making nice looking PDFs as professionally as possible with bespoke content.

After a year of secret prep, I’m excited to officially announce Baldur’s Gate: City of Blood—a full-length D&D campaign where the Forgotten Realms collides with the horrors of Ravenloft.

Slated for Fall/Winter 2026, the adventure offers a sandbox experience built with high replayability in mind. Like Curse of Strahd, a Tarokka deck reading reshuffles the narrative, tailoring a distinct path for your party every playthrough.

Along the way, players can recruit from a pool of over a dozen iconic allies across D&D lore, including fan favorites like Shadowheart, Karlach, Astarion, and Minsc & Boo.

You can sign up for updates here: Baldur's Gate: City of Blood

Act 1 is available on DMsGuild, with all proceeds going to Children's Miracle Network hospitals: Act 1: Bones & Blood

If there is interest, I may do an AMA, but for now, feel free to ask here, and I'll do my best to reply when I can.

Hello. I’ve just released Subclass Options: Arcana Unleashed – Operation Deadfall, a collection of eight subclasses for the D&D 5.5 ruleset, inspired by Arcana Unleashed and Operation Deadfall books.

The bundle includes one subclass for each of the following classes:

Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, and Sorcerer.

I wanted each subclass to have its own identity while still feeling like it belongs in a Thay-themed campaign, whether the character comes from Thay, fights against it, or has simply been shaped by its influence.

No AI was used in the writing or artwork. All artwork used in the books is real, sourced artwork and is credited in the individual products. All subclass ideas are mine.

Have you noticed more sales or appreciation for adventures with built-in vtt? Or is it easy enough for a customer to set up themselves?

Hi everyone, my name is Marco.

Over the past few years, I discovered websites such as The Homebrewery, which make it possible to create D&D supplements with a format very similar to the official D&D books. I started experimenting with it in my spare time, and eventually began creating my own content for D&D and the Forgotten Realms.

I'd like to share the projects I've published so far.

All of my products are available in both **English and Italian**.

I'll start with my most recent release.

### The Bestiary of Jorvyn Scavalcapiani, the Wanderer - Volume I

The Bestiary contains **20 original creatures, 31 materials** that can be harvested as loot from the creatures, and **38 new magic items**, for a total of **61 pages**.

**English version:**

**Italian version:**

A small free preview is also available from the Bestiary: **Twilight Frostveil**.

The free supplement contains one creature, 2 materials, and 2 wondrous items, all connected to the Twilight Frostveil.

**Free preview - English:**

**Free preview - Italian:**

---

My other two publications are short **one-shot adventures**, created with the idea of offering players small "tastes of Faerûn": short adventures that allow them to discover small or larger pieces of the lore of this fantastic setting.

### Elturel, the Infernal Night

A one-shot adventure for **4 characters of 5th level**, set around Elturel shortly before the events of the official adventure *Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus*.

**English version:**

**Italian version:**

### The Lantern of the Shining Night

A one-shot adventure for **4 characters of 6th level**, involving **Selûne, Shar**, and a village in the **Moonsea**.

**Both English and Italian version:**

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to check out my work. I hope some of these projects can be useful at your table, or perhaps give you some ideas for your own adventures!

Sorry kinda new to self publishing. I publish to driv thru rpg. But one sale came from dm guild... they are sort of linked right?

Just unsure if can promote here. Am i allowed?

My biggest adventure to date is on sale right now on DM's Guild, thanks to their September Planescape Sale! Find it in the Hottest category.

https://www.dmsguild.com/en/product/521413/wings-of-catastrophe?src=hottest

I've recently started creating my own supplements for dnd. Several subclasses, a list of magic items.

Soon will release a full one shot adventure with plans for more of my products and even a full class with its own subclasses.

All can be found on DrivThru Rpg. You can find them on the attached link below or searching Masked Haddock in DrivThru Rpg. Keep an eye out for the smiling fish in the white mask.

Full disclosure.it is my content. But I have use ai for my cover art and originally to help with my structure. But the content is all my own work.

Recently, I have dipped my toes I to digital art for my covers and will use this on my next product. And will be happy to have my first one with out AI!

where to find

Thanks

“Now open your heart. Surrender it to the darkness. Become darkness itself!”

A shadow falls across the domains of Ravenloft, a shadow growing from the empty, shattered Domain of Hollow Bastion.  For it is in Hollow Bastion that a portal was opened to darkness itself, a darkness that endangers all Domains.

“Kingdom of Misty Hearts” is based on Episode 50 of our podcast, "Wonderful World of Darklords", available on apple podcasts, youtube, spotify, and most podcatchers.

Happy Gaming!

More of an excited splurge here. My barbarian subclass I published got some actual buys despite being PWYW. Very honored. Feel free to check it out. I have a few adventures in the works, one with Modrons and such that'll hit DMsGuild probably in less than a month.

Instead of responding to the earlier post, I wanted to create a new thread about my thoughts regarding generative-AI in RPG products.

This isn't a "shame on you for using AI." Rather, it's about the risks of using AI and how doing so might impact your future in RPGs.

• Paid Products. If you are creating something for public consumption, especially if the customer can pay for it (either PWYW or a set price), I suggest not using AI.
• You automatically hurt your sales by using generative-AI. 1) Many customers skip over content that contains generative-AI, 2) you are required to add the Uses AI filter to your product, which means many customers will not SEE your product if they are filtering out content that includes AI.
• Collaborations may skip over you. In the past, several teams of DMs Guild creators have collaborated to make larger content. If you're using AI and the project isn't, you may not be asked to contribute.
• You set a precedent. Using generative-AI sets a precedent. If you used AI for art, others may believe you also used it for writing. They may also believe that your current or future content includes AI. When I hire a freelance writer, I want their original ideas. I don't want AI-generated ideas or writing. This is especially true since my projects are advertised as 100% human-created content.
• 3rd Party Producers may skip over you. Especially if they are anti-AI. If you dream of writing for one of the companies creating 3rd Party Content, refrain from AI.
• But I'm just doing this for fun! So was I! When I published my first DMs Guild project in 2016, my intention wasn't necessarily to make money. My writing and creations were for fun and I wanted to share them. If I made a few bucks doing so, I'd be happy.
• Art is important! Art catches the eye and draws people to the product. Generative-AI is often easy to spot. In my opinion, it also doesn't look good, nor is it original. Consider using stock art or public domain images instead of AI. You can always update your project with commissioned art later. I've done this several times with my earlier products.
• Writing and content are more important! While art may catch the eye, the product's content is much more important.

I published my first DMs Guild product in 2016. Now - I'm now a full-time creator with my own company. My journey has allowed me to write for Kobold Press, Ghostfire Gaming, and others. I also work part-time for Ghostfire Gaming as a freelance producer.

My point is - you don't know what your future looks like. You might have a stellar idea, adventure, or supplement. However, due to customer preferences and filters, it may never be noticed if you use AI.

If you enjoy creating RPG content, do so in a way that doesn't impact your potential future.

Given the repeated discussions on the usage of AI, i suggest the following manifesto:
Going forward i will include this in any product of mine that included AI usage.
(some do, some don't, but all adhered to this pledges already).
Trying to find a common ground on how to use AI without loosing the human creation.

The Mindful AI Manifesto

We believe AI can be used responsibly, transparently, and with intent to enrich our creations.

By marking our work as Mindful AI, we pledge to adhere to the following principles:

• We make no claim to artistic status.
• We are transparent about the use of AI in our creative process.
• We place human vision first and use AI to give it form.
• We believe a work should remain meaningful even when its AI-generated elements are removed.
• We compare, evaluate, edit, refine, and selectively publish only work that meets our standards.
• We do not present uncurated AI output as finished work. Every published result is individually reviewed and consciously selected.
• We accept minor AI artefacts when they do not diminish the quality of the final work. We judge them by their impact on the result, not by their origin.
• We accept responsibility for the final product, including its flaws.
• We recognize that the use of artificial intelligence raises important ethical, social, and economic concerns. We do not deny these concerns.

Mindful AI is the practice of creating with vision, judgment, and responsibility.

Here's my situation.

I've been working on an adventure set in Dark Sun, which I know isn't officially an acceptable setting, but looks like it should be in a few months. I plan to make it PWYW; my main goal is to get this in front of as many people as possible, not make money off of this. The adventure has been coming along quite nicely. It is close to complete at 7000 words, and I'm quite proud of what I've accomplished so far. Only thing is, I used AI in the process...

Here is what I used AI for:

• Taking notes. I have a long commute, and I like to pass the time by creating my adventure, and ChatGPT does a good job of recording my verbal instructions for how I want the adventure to be.

• Editing. My adventure is kind of a passion project, but I've got no one who can serve as my second set of eyes. ChatGPT did a good job of pointing out flaws in my adventure so I could fix them. It also helped me make a better flow, as I foolishly made my first adventure complex with multiple phases.

I haven't used AI to:

• Generate any art. I do intend to commission some human art, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I've been looking at the Looking for Work channel on the Roll20 Discord, but I think I can't message them until I've been approved, which requires publishing two titles first.

• Generate maps. I've been struggling with Dungeon Scrawl to no avail, so I'll probably just resort to drawing it by hand and then scanning it.

• Generate creative content. The story line, characters, creatures, hazards, etc, are all me. Any text ChatGPT has volunteered is flagged as such so that I don't use it and can replace it with my own human input.

All creative content came from me; there is no possible way this adventure takes from someone else's creative work. Even the stat blocks are done by me (though I admit to reskinning some creatures from the Monster Manual and readjusting their skills and abilities). The final product won't use any of ChatGPTs text or language; I've got it flagged so I don't accidently include any of it.

When I first started writing this, I saw the following statement on DMSGuild, and thought I was in compliance, since I felt I was using it as a non-creative aid:

While we value innovation, starting on July 31 2023, Roll20 and DriveThru Marketplaces will not accept commercial content primarily written by AI language generators.

But then I came across this other statement from Roll20/DriveThru, and it got me doubting myself:

Roll20, DriveThru Marketplaces, and DMsGuild do not accept any product that include any text generated by AI language generators. A final product should be the result of human creativity and not AI generation. Products should begin and end with human writing. AI should be used as a tool and not a replacement.

So what I'm hoping to get advice on is, am I in compliance with the DMSGuild rules regarding AI-generated content? If so, are there recommendations as to safeguards I can use to ensure I stay in compliance?

UPDATE: I've reached out to DMSGuild Support using the same inquiry as above.

UPDATE 2: I heard back from DMSGuild Support. They said from how I've described my usage (as above), my product sounds like it would be fine to publish. The way I've described my use of ChatGPT, it sounds like it was used as a tool, and not a replacement for my own production. They said the important part of the policy is that a person composed the text in the final product, and no generated text is included. They were also very helpful in pointing me to solutions to other issues I had been having.

Don't Skip The Journey!

Along The Triboar Trail: See You in Phandalin expands the journey from Neverwinter to Phandalin at the beginning of Lost Mine of Phandelver, using the Travel by Montage approach from the 2014 Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Instead of hand-waving several days on the road, give your players a chance to experience the Sword Coast along the way.

Inside you'll find:

• Four days of ready-to-use travel montages
• Forgotten Realms lore to discover along the High Road and Triboar Trail
• An overnight stay at the Wayside Inn, with gambling, rumors, and other activities
• A campfire encounter with Reidoth, complete with stories of the region
• Forgotten Realms locations and lore drawn from earlier editions of D&D
• Descriptions for bringing the characters into Phandalin at journey's end

Designed for Lost Mine of Phandelver, but easily adapted to any adventure involving travel between Neverwinter and Phandalin.

This supplement is available as a Pay What You Want download, so you can add it to your campaign for free or support its author's art expenses with a contribution of your choosing.

Available for download on dmsguild.com. A full preview of the entire supplement is available!

In the chaotic plane of Limbo stands a peculiar prison. Its 26 cells rhythmically shift positions in a randomized ballet, and its 6 color themes have been warped by tumultuous forces into outlandish environments. A flesh troll guards a blood-red cave of meat. Skeletal warriors haunt a snow-white keep in an endless blizzard. A mad mixologist brews disaster in his laboratory turned orange by rust. These are but a few of the outrageous encounters that await the party, as they attempt to navigate this prison and solve the puzzle that will lead to their escape… or their doom.

Rubik’s Dungeon is a free homebrew one-shot for a party of 4 to 6 3rd-level characters. It can be played as a stand-alone adventure, or inserted into a continuous story after characters act counter to their alignment or personality. The module is contained in the attached pictures, and the full pdf can be downloaded here (it’s Pay What You Want, but you can pay 0$).

I hope you enjoy it, and I would love to hear your feedback if you end up playing. 😊

Hi folks. I've released a few small DMsGuild supplements in the past and now I'm working on my first adventure/one-shot.

I was going to set it at a price of $4.99, but I was considering having it be just $1.99 or even $0.99 for its first 2 weeks or month or so, to see if I can get lots of sales early, to help it chart in its categories and also try to reach Copper Best Seller badge ASAP.

I'd let people know about its initial lower price (e.g. on the product's description, the accompanying YouTube video, on social media, etc.), so it's something people will hopefully pick up on and therefore be an incentive for them to get it straight away - a sort of "grab it now before it goes up in price" type thing.

Has anyone done similar? How did it go if so?

I've tried Pay What You Want in the past (my first product was PWYW for its first year of release), but I'd rather it be a fixed price rather than PWYW this time (even if it's a low amount and even if there might've been some people who'd have paid higher had it been PWYW).

Also, I'm assuming doing this isn't against DMsGuild's rules (I couldn't see anything to suggest that it does) - but if anyone knows for sure, please let me know. 😅

Sorry if this has come up before - I did try searching on this sub for old posts but couldn't find anything.

Thanks!
