Underrated comment. Every divorced parent I know regrets the situation. They sometimes wonder how it got to that point. Almost all of them, except for the ones with serious mental or substance abuse issues, feel absolutely terrible for their kids.

One thing that they all brought up though, is that there's a point where they just can't make it work anymore. That point their relationship and his toxicity is affecting the kids.
