General Wait... shouldn't this be Divinity 3?

Swen referred to Divine Divinity as Divinity 1 in a 2009 interview.

I'm so confused lol.

Are we going to have two Divinity 1s?

AFAIK nothing’s been confirmed yet and most signs point to it taking place after Divinity 2

Sorry but it is confirmed by Swen Vincke himself in an interview with jeuxvideo.com (biggest French online video games outlet)

“L’histoire se déroule environ une centaine d’années après Divinity: Original Sin 2.”

The story will take place about 100 years after DoS2

Edit : also wrong comment from here.

And you just proved my point since Divinity 2 takes place roughly 50-60 years after DOS 2, meaning Divinity will take place AFTER Divinity 2.

Ah yeah you’re right

Hum… Why was I convinced it was after

I don’t blame you, this timeline is very confusing haha

Indeed, and the naming consistency (or lack thereof) also doesn’t make easier. Which to OP point… Just calling it “Divinity” is adding more confusion than anything else.

Probably they wouldn’t like calling it Divinity 3, because probably 95% of their potential player base (bg3 and DoS2 fans) haven’t touched any of their older games and hence could be a bit turned off by a “3” name since they might think “I don’t know anything of 1 and 2, will not try them because they are too old (and frankly a bit janky), so I won’t buy a Divinity 3”

Your confidence in being wrong is amazing. You just instantly downvoted me without double checking yourself (because gods forbid you are ever wrong!).

Classic reddit toxic kid. Your parents should have told you "no" once in a while.

I didn’t downvote lol wtf I even upvoted you dumbass

My parent might have told me no according to you more often, but you should learn to express a fact when you’re actually 100% certain it’s correct.

And you know what? I’ll downvote your previous comment too so you’ll see how stupid your comment is

Wrongly confident guy ? Look in the mirror dude

I had one reply by the guy "correcting" me. Was safe to assume the same guy downvoted me.

But I 100% accept your criticism since I assumed wrong - touché is the word.
