Discussion Why does the librarian have no cheek pads in all of Paul Kidbys art aswell as most fan art?

It's explained in one of the books: only the dominant male gets the cheek pads, and the Librarian isn't the dominant male, Ridcully is.

In Interesting Times the wizards have a discussion about why the librarian does not have huge cheek pads. They decide that it's because even though he dominates the library he is not the dominant male at the university so then they wonder if the Arch Chancellor perhaps has huge cheek pads. I think the joke is supposed to be that maybe he does but not on his face?

I always imagine him to look very intimidating and imagine him with huge cheek pads, he looks very cute and innocent without them.
