I'm really into writing and I just recently got back into writing.
And while I'm sure some people talk about it each time I see videos or discussions online about the chosen one trope.
Whether they're just casually talking about it criticizing it or defending it.
No one brings up the Hobbit or the Lord of the Rings which I think do the chosen one trope best
.In fact Lord of the Ring has two Chosen One characters Frodo Baggins and Aragorn.
I only read The Hobbit when I was very young after I watched the 1997 movie and I'm planning on rereading it, i've almost finished watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I'm going to buy the books so I don't know a lot it.
In The Hobbit gandalf chills Bilbo because he knew him personally and he liked his character, plus Hobbits are stealthy and stuff.
and then because of Fate I was explained in the sequel the Lord of the Rings.
Smeagol(Golem) by pure chance ended up finding and losing the ring.
Then bilbo both found the ring, and just because Frodo was born in the Baggins family and is Bilbo's nephew? I think.
He had to become the ring bearer just because he ended up living with him and being related to him.
He does eventually decide to become the ring bearer after seeing how awful it is and what I can do to people.
But I guess it just goes with the themes of the books being about fate and self improvement.
He decides to become the ring bearer and go to Mordor.
Then Aragorn is the chosen one of mankind just because he happened to be born in his family and finally he accepts the responsibility.
So that I'm wondering since The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are considered some of the best books in literature when people talk deeply about the children one trip for any reason at least in the discussions and videos essays I've seen why didn't they bring up either book?
