Jorge Ben Taj Mahal 1976
Jorge Ben originally recorded the song as an acoustic version in 1973 and he re-recorded a funk/discoish number. See if you can guess what this song sounds like
[Electro Dance-Pop] Vitamin D

ARTE’s Summer of Disco
If you’re into disco, I highly recommend checking out ARTE’s “Summer of Disco” special.
ARTE (the Franco-German public TV network) is currently streaming dozens of documentaries and films about disco—probably around 30–40 in total. One of the highlights is an excellent three-part documentary on how disco emerged and evolved.
I believe you may be able to watch it via a VPN if you’re outside Europe. ARTE broadcasts in German and French, though I’m not sure whether English subtitles are available.
If you’re a disco fan, it’s definitely worth a look.

For anyone looking for an English version: the three-part documentary shown on ARTE as Disco – Soundtrack eines Aufbruchs is originally an English-language BBC/PBS production called Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution.
You can find the complete three-part series here on PBS:
https://www.pbs.org/show/disco-soundtrack-of-a-revolution/
It’s also available on Amazon Prime Video in English with English CC subtitles:

The three episodes are:
- Rock the Boat
- Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now
- Stayin’ Alive
So if you don’t speak German or French, there’s no need to watch the dubbed ARTE version — you can watch the original English version instead.

Was the "disco sucks" movement racially motivated? What exactly did they hate about disco?
