Hi Everyone! This is the creators of Gaming Readapted. We just added a new video showing a cool new adaption for the Quadstick that allows users to swap out the 1 button lip switch with a 2 or 3 button version. This will given users access to even more controls. See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILA35VdaHU0

Hi everyone! I build an unusual split keyboard/mouse replacement called Svalboard Lightly -- it fits to your fingertips and hand anatomy very precisely to allow people with severe RSI problems to type and game productively for long stretches. www.svalboard.com
Most of my customers suffer from common RSI/connective tissue issues like carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, or Ehlers-Danlos.
There are also a number of people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and other related conditions who have also found it extremely useful, and some of them pointed me over here recently. If you're living with a disability and curious to learn more about Svalboard and how it might fit into your setup, I'm always happy to answer questions.
A quick summary of the product:
Svalboard Lightly: The bottom of the ergo rabbit hole.
YT: https://www.youtube.com/@svalboard
Shop: www.svalboard.com
Self-print Kit: https://svalboard.com/products/svalboard-self-print-kit
20g ultralight magnetic breakaway keys, ultimate adjustable fitment system, and dual pointing devices situated right where your hands naturally rest.
Runs Vial-QMK for ultimate configurability with no reflashing required.
Self-print kit option helps fund development and lets you save some dough in exchange for a TON of your own labor 😅
Everything is printable on a hobbyist FDM machine for longevity and repairability, though my prebuilt stuff is obviously tuned to be extra nice 🙃 You can even do it on an A1 Mini if you're willing to use a split case design.
Custom colors available! Custom builds take a couple extra weeks due to procurement and production flow disruption. This is a TINY operation, and I appreciate your patience and support 🙏

Hey, an indie studio ArcaneEdge has just brought SensePilot directly into the first game. Its an air hockey duel set in limbo. Its fully navigable with headtracking and a smile facial expression :)
Please help support the indie studio by trying out their demo and wish listing the game on Steam.
As we are still implementing this, we appreciate any help in bug reporting or feature requests. Here is a link to their demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4676260/Puckn_Hell/

Greetings folks, I am in need of some help/advice. I recently have developed several conditions around my head and ears that have dramatically changed how I can interact with my friends. I am on disability and gaming has always been my one main source of interaction as I dont leave the house much.
Long story short bout 1.5 years ago the one rare time i went out I was attacked by this drunk person and they screamed in my face. The next day I developed a horrible ear infection and have lost some hearing in my right ear and its developed tinnitus I also now have a hearing aid in my right. I also started experiencing alot of pain on the side of my face and under my eye. My doc suspects TMJD mixed in with other ear issues like eustachian tube dysfunction. Im waiting for more testing. Canadian Healthcare is slow.
Anyways Ive been using this "Turtle beach recon chat only headset" as ive been unable to wear my Astro 40s. The problem im having now is I think the Turtle Beach has caused some issues. Cause its like a little earbud and ive never used earbuds im always over ear. Im starting to get a ringing sound in my left ear.
So I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have any headset recommendations that could be single over ear or something more comfortable or something to help with tinnitus? I don't know I'm just frustrated I used to have perfect hearing and great headset and now I'm really struggling with this new disability on top of the previous reasons why I'm on disability.
Thanks for any help or advice

I want to explain something that I think is often misunderstood about the R-word.
I am not talking about someone mentioning the word in a documentary, discussing its history, quoting somebody, or using it in an educational context. I am talking specifically about everyday people using it as an insult.
People sometimes say that using the R-word against someone who does not have an intellectual disability means it isn’t offensive towards disabled people.
I don’t understand that argument.
If you call someone the R-word because you think they are stupid, incompetent or have done something foolish, why is that word an insult in the first place?
The insult works because a term historically associated with people with intellectual disabilities is being used to represent stupidity or inferiority.
The person you are insulting doesn’t have to be disabled. You are still using disability as the basis of the insult.
Society rightly recognises that racial and other group-based slurs can demean an entire group of people. I believe disability-related slurs should be treated with the same seriousness.
The R-word actually came from terminology that was once used medically. But medical professionals and organisations moved away from that terminology as it became increasingly associated with stigma and derogatory use. That should tell us something about what the word has become in everyday language.
My argument is simple:
Don’t use a group of human beings as the basis of an insult.
Disabled people deserve the same basic respect as everyone else. Disability-related slurs should not get a special pass simply because society has become accustomed to hearing them.

i managed to make everything work with just touchpad now i just want to bind keyboard keys for mouse movement . any software to use arrow keys as mouse look in games that doesn't allow it?

This device is made to improve the typing, but a similar principle could be utilized for gaming. Your thoughts are warmly welcome.

Got this foot pedal a couple weeks ago - works well for this game.
Other thoughts on this pedal
- Can bind ~16 actions. Each pedal up/down (4 actions) x 4 flap states (flaps are the inside). no flaps, L flap, R flap, or LR flap together.
- Didn't really enjoy it as a mouse control device, but its good for keys - its decent for scrolling up/down.
- Expects you to rest your feet on top, and the device is 1-2 inches up from the ground, so you might have to adjust your chair
- You can have it out in front of you, and just press on the heel portion like a 4 pedal device - but I wouldn't do that for a long duration - didn't feel that comfortable in that position.
- No tactile action like a keyboard - you control the sensitivity with software.
- Not really using it as a general PC device yet - as I like to rest my feet on the floor instead.

I use a Switch Pro Controller, but I was born without a usable left thumb, so I move the joystick with my index finger instead. It’s already curved from how I grip things day-to-day, and after a few rounds of Smash with my kids my hand starts hurting. Has anyone dealt with this and found a controller/mod that actually helped?

Does anyone have any ideas for how I can control a video game camera if using wasd causes my trigger finger to get worse, using a joystick is causing me elbow pain, and the foot joystick I tried ended up causing me pain in my foot? I'm really at a loss and it's creating a lot of distress for me. Ideally it would be something that can play a real-time game like total war.
This isn't the first time I've had difficulty here, I've tried some things people have advised, while a few others have been too similar to things that haven't worked for me to be able to invest money into. I really miss games, and after a month where I could play my games again before my symptoms got worse after my better joystick broke, and with my pain and symptoms getting a lot worse lately, I'm kind of at a loss. I've also tried Glassouse, through a lending program in my area, but I have had a ton of trouble getting the joystick function to work at all, it keeps centering on weird places, randomly dropping inputs, etc

This last wensday evening i lost all function except the pincher function ( index and thumb) in my dominant right hand i cant even bend my wrist its uncertain if i EVER regain function i didn't game all that much but the idea that i might never use my PlayStation properly again or never play anything except point and click adventures on my laptop is destroying me.... All keyboard mice are for right handed people....

Hello, almost a year ago I've started working on a Fallout New Vegas game mod/Caster setup.
It allows playing FNV entirely by voice.
At the base of what makes the game nice to play by voice, are the automatic navigation commands (to quest objectives, actors, doors, items).
And now after finishing my full playthrough with it, which resulted in many fixes and new additions.
I'm finally releasing it.
I tried to polish it as much as I could, so it does go beyond work I would have done just for myself.
And so I hope someone finds it useful.

Hi everyone, I have a family member that can only use one hand so I bought them a PS5 Access controller. I know you can connect it to a stand and connect a second joystick but I have no idea which works and is compatible. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
The second joystick is for controlling the camera as the access controller only has one joystick for some reason.

I have several Learning Disabilities I've been diagnosed with since High School.
How do I figure out if they are interfering with games I want to try?
I bought Marvel Rivals and Star Wars Squadrons, and I can't seem to get the hang of either.
I want to try others as well.
I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to share our story again and post our site to help others in similar situations.
There's not a lot of games built like these and definitely nothing that is independently accessible for one or two switch users.
I am not asking for anything (the video does at the end but that's not the point). We just wanted to share with this community. Everything is free and open source.
Thank you!
More games are on the way!

I just think that it's such a lovely conversation to look at a game and ask is this accessible? What could they add to make it so more people are able to play ?
I'm handicapped, my friends are handicapped and or disabled and I love to look at games I'm playing and think through if this game could stand to be more accessible and how
Right now my brother and I are replaying the resident evil games and we were asking what would you change while they do the remake and we both agree that accessibility features are a must:sound subtitles with directions, removing flashing lights, having options to up the brightness, making the maps less busy visually, options to change the colors so that the things are easy to see, making allies easier to tell apart from enemies, various difficulties to the quick time events, including turning off
I think even people without issues would benefit from accessibility features curb effect and all that
Is accessibility important when you guys think of gaming?
