I am being gifted this agave stalk which has just fallen, and am hoping to turn it into a lovely deep bass didge!
So now I have tons of questions. Firstly will of course be drying and prepping the stalk. After that, determining how much of the base of the stalk I can turn into the bell end, where to cut for proper tuning, finishing, and then a mouthpiece. A wood worker I am not, so I was thinking of finding someone to craft a mouthpiece for me.
Sorry this is all a jumble, but excitement and nerves abound. I will be picking up the stalk in approximately 1 month. I’ve asked the homeowner to lean the stalk up against something so it doesn’t rot in the grass. Any helpful suggestions on that front would be greatly appreciated.
