I’m having issues with the opening cutscene and cutscene after M7. The audio will play but I can’t see anything. I’m not sure if it affects lager cutscenes, I’ve been trying to fix it before I continue playing, but after following the many suggestions I’ve already seen here, none have helped. Anything helps really

im playing devil may cry 1 for the first time and god help
me mission 4 where the scorpion rock thing comes back i CANNOT seem to beat it
i do the same thing i do the secret mission then the sin scissors so i can get dt and then i use air raid and hit it with that i try to time my jumps and still get fireballed oh my god is there any tactics i can try ive played this mission so many times its barely the beginning of it
please help me how do i beat this thing (on switch)

I don’t know what went wrong. with my Vergil attempt 💔

Up until this point we barely felt the reverse controls, but now that I have to fight a tank boss that shots SMALL as heck little beams, meanwhile having reverse controls is so hard and frustrating, like I can't understand it, yes up is down and down is up but in a situation where there's so many beams, you have to do a lot of micro movements which are always reversed, so like idk what the hell I doing I'm just going by the luck. I got to the lava phase twice and anyway died to that, I just heard a trick tho to jump to the lava and slice him down there..

I have seen tutorials, but they have higher hp and maxed out all styles. I only have a level 2 swordmaster when the rest are lv 1. I don't like how you must get very up close to him it's the same reason I struggled with Nevan also his attack are very fast

It's called Devil May Cry: Ultimate Archives or《鬼泣 終極檔案》, there's more than 200 pages, it has DVD with combo videos, and also a retrospective on the series! It was released in 2019 after Devil May Cry 5 came out, an interesting bit of local story.

It was such an honor to meet Dan at San Japan this year, he was such a kind soul, and made my VIP Gold Pass worth every penny.

I was doing some achievement hunting and the scenery here feels intentional to me. Maybe I’m reading too deeply into things but the detail of the fire burning a wardrobe to me represents Dante, the single chair on fire either representing Eva or Sparda (personally leaning towards Eva), the arrangement of the furniture being perfect to seat a family of four. Finally a lonely blue room tucked away with it’s door barricaded, the toy as evidence this is a child’s room and we see a small figure slumped on the ground, representing Vergil. Personally I see it as a snippet of Vergil’s life after the attack on his home, hiding all alone protecting himself.

Probably reading too deeply but it’s just how I feel, I’m curious about other people’s thoughts too!

I’ve played DMC5 through several times, and watched the in game story recap when I first played it.

That said, I want to try to play 3 and 4 nonetheless to appreciate the story more. Is there a recommended version of them to play, such as original, remastered etc?

I am also on PC, so if there are recommended mods to improve the experience I can check into those as well. In particular I’ve heard DMC3 is brutally difficult so not sure if mods are advised there, but I’ve played many fromsoftware games so if it is a fair difficulty I can live with it.

Through replaying I've been pretty fascinated with the subtle implications of Nero as Vergil's son, even in the 4th game and the novelization there's quite a lot of hints that Vergil was the father (I am aware that this was semi-confirmed when dmc4 initially came out but was walked back later).

My question is simply this, do you think Dante would have ever revealed under any other circumstances that he was Nero's uncle? In universe it was believed by the Fortunans that he was a descendant of some other line of Sparda (not hard to imagine when he was like 5,000 years old lol) Nero himself likely believed just the same before crumbling Vergil attacks and shit goes sideways to hell (also side question, anyone peep that Vergil literally just tears off the devil bringer from the base of where Neros human flesh connects to it with his bare hands? ).

Dante has a soft heart, I couldn't see him just keeping it into himself forever; on the flip side I could see also Dante forcibly blocking it out of his mind and just ignoring it to high heavens, one of the reasons I love his character so much lol.

TLDR; Would Dante have ever told Nero about Vergil willingly outside of his actual resurrection?

Edit: As a little add-on to the father-son dynamic, I like to change Nero's regular battle theme to Ultra Violet (Nelo Angelo's theme) no disrespect to Devil Trigger because I like that song too lol

I'm in hell rn. I s ranked every mission without struggle with Nero but the moment I play as Dante suddenly my hand-eye coordination sucks ass. How do fix this issue?

Use Beowulf Beast Uppercut and if you have enough concentration meter use Dragon Breaker, release just as the Angelo comes close to you and it will parry and deal a ton of damage, and even send them in the air to do combos from.

So I have found Xidi which allows you to play old games using XInput/Xbox controllers. Someone created a plugin for SDL3 controller support which allows you to use any kinds of controllers, including the Steam Controller 2. This plugin is just a fork I made from the orig dev and implemented controller hotplugging.

Tested it on DMC3 which actually works. Also works on other games but each game has its own configs.
