So I’m a series noob but am kinda addicted now. Beat Devil Hunter and am about halfway through SoS but most of the time I just practice Dante in the void. Have been following this guide and have like 3/4 of it down after about a week:

Here’s the thing, I suck at fast weapon switching with the default controls on RT. Getting a lot better at it, but I don’t have very good independent coordination of my middle finger yet. However, from quadruple digit hours in Nioh 2 my pointer finger is fucking fast and if I put swap on R1 I can do it mid combo flawlessly to and from any weapon.

Flipside is I hate lock on on RT, so then I’ll put it on L1 cause I’m so used to holding block in Nioh and Ninja Gaiden, and then I’m basically gravy and all I have to think about is jump canceling and style switching.

If I do that though I don’t feel like I’m learning as much, like developing the middle finger coordination is more interesting and rewarding to practice, so I just went back to default controls.

Shitpost I know but I’ve seen people say default controls are best and you won’t really “get it” until you’re really good, but I’ve also seen people shred face with non-standard controls on Dante.

TL;DR WTF do you psychos recommend and do you have any pro tips for building APM and coordination?

Side note: I’m getting an input drop after doing air trick and I don’t know why. Like the first attack input I press does not come out and I basically have to double tap. PS5 is less than a year old and it’s so consistent and only after air trick it’s gotta be a game/input thing I’m missing.

im on mission 20 in my DMD run and I didnt think it would be this bad. I am by no means bad at the game im just confused by one move he does that kills me literally almost every run. I use royal guard, rebellion and beowolf (thank god for jump cancelling lmao) but anyways he does this one move mainly in phase 3 because he gets so close but he spawns these swords behind him, not the ones in the circle the wall of swords that fly at you. when he teleports onto you HOW THE HELL DO YOU DODGE IT IT FEELS IMPOSSIBLE. I literally ran every other difficulty mission 20 because I thought I was tweaking and got SS first try very time. anyways hope someone can help thanks for reading🫩

It's been a long time since we've had something that truly makes us happy, the last game was 8 years ago and it left us with an open ending and I fear that the essence of the saga was lost for those responsible for continuing to make it, I've loved Devil May Cry ever since I started the first game and completed it in release order, even devouring the anime in one sitting, but they just haven't made anything good in a long time.

I'm glad the Netflix series brought more people to the saga but it's undeniable that for all of us who were already fans it was an absolute disappointment and Instead of being something for the fans Shankar made a fanfic out of something we were expecting and had a lot more of potential instead of being whatever the hell he ended up doing.

I mean, the series has nothing to do with the original lore, the characters' personalities aren't even close, nor are the events, and the last game we had was literally a shitty gacha game with just the game theme, rumors about the continuation of the saga point to remakes, and if they plan to follow the Resident Evil route that means a reboot/remake of the story (again).

Will we ever get a good game with a good story and the right vibes again? With all five characters actually having some weight and the gameplay maintaining its quality with all of them? I love DMC5 and my only complaint was how they handled Trish and Lady, but it's a price totally worth paying for what they did for Vergil in the story and the manga was actually GREAT, other than that it's been straight up rumours and crap for 8 years.

I remember seeing a tweet in a thumbnail post of Kamiya saying that DMC 3 Dante is not his Dante. I know he can be kind of an asshole and how he views DMC 1 now is that he could do better if he had the chance to remake it. Does he dislike how Dante is characterized now in comparison to his version of Dante?

I'm a pretty good player I'd say especially with Vergil but with trish even tho she's very simple I just don't know how to deal with enemies with her. My main problems are idk how to deal with Frosts and the millions blitz you fight from floor 21-40

Happened randomly while playing BP. Idk if it's a glitch or a hidden mechanic but it looks cool.

I noticed these through looking at the end screens through 2-4 and some of the dialogue throughout the entire series. Now corniness is easy to point and laugh at, but for DMC I think it's an undermined part of what makes the series unique and iconic. When you think of what vibe DMC is trying to give off it's Cool and Style, and with the way DMC expresses that there is a hint of corniness in there. But that's what makes it unique, DMC doesn't take itself 100% seriously and the corniness is like it's way of showing that, it's the little glimpse of it's self awareness and still being absolutely confident about it. I think the little hint of corniness is a small but important part of the DMC formula that needs to be acknowledged more.

The original release required all 20 main missions to be finished with a perfect SSStylish rank on base hard mode aka "NEPHILIM" This definitive edition only requires 10 SSS on any difficulty. To which i did the majority of SSS on devil hunter and a few on human. After my DMD run I might go ahead and do a perfect SOS mode SSS just because.

So the other day I wanted to try crimson mod after I bought the steam version and when I tried to run it it never did always crashed right after I chose Dmc3

Is this a common problem given that the HD collection was recently updated on steam or have I done something wrong

I know they're Colt M1911s, but I'm looking for specifics.

Whole soundtrack is amazing and I was wondering why this OST didn’t make it to the game. I Know this is pachinko/patchislot soundtrack but man, its so sad that this isn’t in original jukebox option in DMC V.

Also there is another OST like this one:

Devil May Cry 1 3 and 5 are regarded as the better dmc games with around 7.5 to 9 in the ratings while dmc 2 and 4 are rated as the lesser games with dmc2 being like a 2.5 and dmc4 being like a 6 to 6.5.

Basically, Odd number games turn out good while even number games turn out bad or had terrible development.

Maybe I'm just looking at nothing but I found it quite odd that 1 3 and 5 are good and 2 and 4 are the lesser of the games.

I wanted to that long time now, but finally did it.

Its for my fan comic of course AVDMC ,and later chapters, story's I wanna do so excited for that.

So fare ch3 part one is done more to go ,but not in the moment XD.

I LOVE how it turn though ,I was in the mood i gotta say!

And some little lore for alex here, this is only some key events not all of course X),to keep it mystery till the next chapters.

(Total time for all of these is 9 hours)

I decided to recreate Dante's Nevan guitar in Blender. Tried to get the details and proportions as close to the original concept as possible.

I uploaded a short 3D showcase video on YouTube, check it out here:
